    If you like Caribou's Swim and you haven't seen it, then check out Jialong by Daphni. It's the same fella Dan Snaith, who was effectively Caribou. Not quite as good as Swim but very close. One of my albums of the year.

    Never quite got the Arctic Monkeys myself but obviously prepared to give the new album a listen. Lots of people saying it is their best. For me, the House of Love's "She paints words in red" is outstripping everything. What comebacks should be about.

    For the middle-aged out there, Lloyd Cole has finally returned to his Rattlesnakes roots and to good effect.New album "Standards" is arguably his best as a solo artist.

    Interesting. The Depeche Mode one has conspicuously failed to grow on me although I think Soothe My Soul is one of their best tracks for years. On the other hand Nick Cave's album really has grown on me. Agree it's underwhelming at first. Hope it does it for you eventually, Much more depth to it...

    Mark Kozelek's new album Perils from The Sea with Jimmy Lavalle is up there at the moment as my favourite. Closely followed by John Murry and Kurt Vile's albums.
