Yes, I don't disagree with what you're saying.
My only point is that in the hypothetical situation of signing (a peak) Bissouma it wouldn't be a backwards step. That's all.
Yes, if. Hence the only regular teenager is Ferguson. Most other players take time. I'm sure several of those youngsters will come (very)good and they'll be a joy to watch.
I'm less sure it'll be from August 2023 when 'good enough' is being compared to Ally Mac and in this hypothetical case...
I think all those you mention are still 12-18 months away from being ready to be first team regulars(the exception being Moder - for him it is all about how quickly/well he returns to full form after his injury), much like Ally Mac was after his first year with us. They'll need their playing...
I should point out I'm thinking of Biss teaming up in the midfield two with Caicedo - the position that I think is Ally Mac's strongest, not in the '10' role that he has been deployed in since Lallana's injury.
With that in mind who are the replacements that we have in house? I can only think...
I agree. I think there is very little chance he'd come back unless he was forced out the door. I was just querying the claim that signing Biss would be a step backwards. He was absolute quality for us.
Backwards?
Peak Brighton Bissouma is not a step backwards. Admittedly Spurs Bissouma is. Spurs Bissouma isn't even good enough to be a shadow of Brighton Bissouma. :(
Not that it matters as it's unlikely we'll be re-signing him. Still, him and Caicedo as the two would be close to unbeatable.
This.
Imagine where we'd be(apart from facing possible bankruptcy...) if we'd kept White, Bissouma and Trossard. I think with those players under De Zerbi we'd be nailed on top 4. :tantrum:
It'll be gutting to see Ally Mac go. I think he might be my favourite of this current team and one of my all time favourites.
I hope he goes to Barca or Real Madrid and becomes a cornerstone of their team. I don't want to watch him playing for another club in England. It's bad enough with my...
