What a finale. What an excellent showcase for the SCF. Hardly anything to choose between these two teams. In the end Boston looked out of ideas. They stuck to their preferred breakout play of up the wall, which became overly predictable and proved relatively easy for Chicago's forwards to...
I don't envy Rangers fans. Vigneault inherited a very good team and did nothing with them. In fact he actively encouraged his players to dive, cheat, bite, whinge, etc, all in the name of winning, which they fortunately weren't able to do.
It will be a major coup if Boston can leave Chi-town with the split. The Hawks have been good at home and the United Center is a tough place to win games as the visitor. As per usual, the defining game will be the first one in Boston.
Andrew Shaw scored at 12:08 of 3OT to give Chicago the victory 4-3 in Game 1. This is why I love the SCF. Close to 2 complete games last night. Fantastic stuff. We'll see how well they rebound. Fortunately for both the league had the foresight to include an extra day of rest between Games 1 & 2.
I just watched some interviews on TSN.ca with players on both sides talking about winning the Cup on previous occasions. Shawn Thornton said that when he won with Anaheim it was the "greatest day of his life," and his next triumph was "equally as good." A reporter then asked if it was better...
Who are you picking?
Boston look like the 2011 vintage. Chicago might be hitting top gear at the right time. It might come down to goaltending, PP chances and who can get the right match ups. Can Julien get Chara out against Kane and Toews? Will Quenneville be able to match Keith and...
I find posts such as this, rife with ad hominem attacks to be most distatseful and quite annoying. I never thought I would have to utilize the [I]Ignore User[I] function on a fellow BHAFC fan, but I guess I was wrong.
Wish I could say that it's been nice chatting with you, but that would...
Wrong, wrong, wrong. All wrong. Too much misinformation and hyperbole regarding the proposed "deal" to Boston. "Far better return" is highly dubious and I've been a Flames fan for 32 years.
Not surprised that you "could't give a crap." Expecting an Australian to have any understanding of...
First Original Six matchup since the '79 Cup Final when the Canadiens beat the Rangers in five games.
Boston looks good. Chicago peaking at the right time. Can the B's defence contain Hossa, Toews, Sharp and Kane like the did the Penguins big guns? Will Rask duplicate the series he had in the...
You just called out one of the most well-respected and popular players of the past 25 years. One of the truly great ambassadors of the sport.
Maybe you're not, but I'm sure embarrassed for you.
It was for what League Disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan has termed a "retaliatory high stick." Carter lost teeth and had 20 stitches to his face.
Keith is lucky he only got 1 game.
LA in a massive hole down 3-1. Had 2 SOG in the entire 3rd period. Not good enough when you are chasing the...
Neal, Malkin, Crosby, Iginla have registered 0 points between them in the first 3 games. That is a recipe for disaster and the reason why the are down 0-3.
Boston has Pittsburgh on the rack, up 3-0. No real way back for the Pens. Not that Vokoun has been the problem for them, but with all their talent upfront, they've sold themselves short in the goaltending department. Fleury doesn't have it anymore and Vokoun isn't the guy you want in between...
Don't forget Lucic and the biggest (literally) one of all, Chara. Everyone in the NHL should be happy that Chara isn't really very mean. At 6'9" and 19 stone he'd be a real menace if he was meaner.
Hawks Win! Hawks Win! Game 7 goes to OT and is ended on a deflected Brent Seabrook shot.
Fortunately for the NHL and senior referee Steven Walkom Chicago ended up winning the game. With 90 seconds left in regulation, Chicago scored what should have been the game winning goal off of a 3-on-1...
He's the one guy that you build a franchise around. They would be imbeciles if they let him walk, which they probably won't. He's revered there, and outside of Toronto, there is no bigger place to play than New York.
I don't think there are many in hockey who have great opinions of Tortorella.
