There may have been financial reasons why the suspension path was chosen - but it is looking asinine at this moment. It would be good to think the club will come out of this mess with more credit than looks likely now.
Thanks to ROSM and Lord B for their information about how these things work. It simply seems to me that whoever had the lack of foresight and allowed this train to be set on track should not be without censure should this be settled any point soon.

I am very much in sympathy with your views on Gus and the legal proceedings ......... but we do need to limit as much as possible the impact on next season. So we need all parties to do their best to sort it out asap.
Whoever was responsible for putting the club in this position needs to take a long hard look at themselves. This will reflect badly on the pitch next season.
