One response from that same poll that might surprise some on this thread was to the question, "I would rather socialise with Muslims than non-Muslims" - just 13% agreed with that statement and in the 18-34 age group that fell to 11%.
And to the question asked, "If someone from the Muslim community was planning an act of violence I would report them to the police", 94% replied in the affirmative. That cuts by half, at least, your figure of 11% who would "agree" with attacks on Western interests.

Getting around passport control is nothing new - in 1936 it was made a criminal offence to volunteer to fight in the Spanish Civil war - this didn't stop about 4,000 doing so, (on both sides), and approximately 500 losing their lives.
