Had to take son number 2 to Crawley on Friday night for a basketball game. Me and Mrs Rolls decided to go get a curry rather than spend all Friday night sitting in a school gym. So with no more research than nearest Indian restaurant, phone and book. Thank you Crawley. Zari in Isfield is bloody...

Sunday lunch at the China Palace in Worthing. http://www.chinapalacerestaurant.co.uk/china_palace_dim_sum_menu.html 15 dishes, plus Chinese tea for 4 and the bill was less than £60 including service. Considering this was all freshly cooked food to order and the quality was excellent, I can...

Went to the Glasshouse restaurant at Wickwood's Country Club on Thursday. Quite a posh venue I suppose, but not at all stuffy. The food was really good, I enjoyed pigs cheeks and guinea fowl, but there were less exotic offerings also available. Followed by Casa Don Carlos on Friday, which is an...

I will have to give this a try. I always thought this had the potential to be a great venue. I have been in a few times over the years and never seen it come close to that.

I think they only serve it on the first floor, but every day. There is a reasonable sized selection. Some are good, some merely okay. Dim Sum traditionally is breakfast or lunch, give it a try and see what you think. It is the best I have found locally.

The China Palace in Worthing does decent dim sum, agreed Interwok is poor. Giraffe is reasonable for a chain restaurant, nothing spectacular, but better than most.

Went out on Friday night in Brighton with Mrs Rolls and we decided a quick cheap bite to eat was in order. It seemed like a nice evening to sit outside, so we headed down to the Hobgoblin. Sadly the Troll did not agree and there was no sign of any food. Plan B well we decided to give Meat...

Okay a takeaway pizza recommendation from me, that you might need to do some work to track down. There regular haunts are Shoreham to Horsham and all points in between. http://www.thepizzaoven.co.uk/ Wood fired pizza, served from a van. Grab them from one of their regular touring spots on the...

Tried 64 degrees on the strength of NSC recommendations. The food is indeed wonderful and reasonably priced, as long as you don't mind background noise and a very hurried pace. You have the "table" for an hour and a half. Note table in inverted commas, as we were perched on a counter in the...
