Excellent bowling from Steyn that. All meaningless though now, this match has been ruined.

Don't get me wrong, the 180 was below par. However we've now had De Villiers out twice and Smith out for 15. All terrible decisions are have swung this test match so far in the Saffers' direction it's not even funny anymore. The umpiring has been nothing short of farcical.

He was given out caught by the on field umpire when sweeping Swann. De Villiers asked for a review and Harper gave it NOT OUT. It's pretty clear there is no way he can categorically say it was not out, given that De Villiers seemed to not only glove it but also the ball hits the back of his bat...

I can't watch it anymore. Players that should be out are in and scoring runs. If Smith and De Villiers had been given out as they should have done this match would be a LOT closer and England's 180 score might not look as bad as it did on the first day. Take 90 runs off Smith and 19 off De...

And now Sidearse is bowling too straight. AGAIN.

As soon as I saw that first one it was clear he'd gloved it and now it seems it's hit his bat on the way through ASWELL. How can you overturn the out decision? I don't like to say we're being cheated out of any chance of getting a result here but, well, we are.

England making official complaint about Harper being a useless ****.

Yes we could have done. Unfortuntely Sidebottom got the ball instead of the series' highest wicket taker. Strauss really does piss me off sometimes.

Why isn't Anderson bowling? They started with Sidearse this morning and they've started with him again after this break. Why is our best bowler not getting a go at the critical times? f***ing HELL

''Test Match Special, along with several other sources, are now stating that the referral fiasco was explicitly umpire Harper's fault. Apparently he did not realise that he had a volume control switch in his booth, and had failed to turn up the noise when he was confronted with silent footage...

Agnew on twitter... Aggerscricket SABC defends itself: Harper's volume control was on 4 out of 10. He didn't turn it up. Edge audible when turned up then Aggerscricket Still doesn't entirely add up in that SABC commentators and viewers couldn't hear it either.... edi, and now...

Yup, that'll be that for the day. This is due to happen for the remainder of the match. I'd piss myself if we manage to get out of this with a draw. Completely spanked throughout the series but come away with a win.

It's not the fact that Smith didn't walk though, it's the fact that he clearly knicked it and IF Harper had the replay with sound as opposed to the one the SABC gave him without sound then he would have been given out. Now he's there, when he shouldn't be, and will probably go on to bat England...
