Hopefully someone can have a look at Sather's job now...
Wouldn't mind someone like Alain Vigneault to come in for Tortorella. Guy Boucher another decent option.
Tortorella just seems so full of his own importance. During the play offs he has stuck the boot in to loads of his squad (Hagelin, Richards, etc).
Last season I was fortunate enough to stay in the same hotel in Montreal as the Rangers squad. There were a few fans hanging about asking for...
That was less Boston v New York and more Boston vs Lundqvist.
Tortorella does not deserve another season at the MSG helm. His recent tactics are always going to fall short in a tough best of seven series.
The decline of Brad Richards has also been pretty sad to see. Rick Nash was championed...
I am slightly bias as I love Prust and the way he plays hockey. Had his name on my NYR jersey and managed to interview him as well. Lovely, genuine bloke.
But you are right, his sort of player will never command big contracts when re-signing. But he HAS been missed by the Rangers.
True. There are not enough attacking players matching the ability and consistency of the defensive lines.
I also think not giving Brandon Prust a better deal was a mistake. He might not have been a big scorer but he epitmosied everything which was good about the Rangers last season.
Defensively they are superb - and not just Lundqvist. Ryan McDonagh is a huge talent and did a great job against Ovechkin's line. Girardi is good as well.
Nash and Richards are both quality players in attack but definitely need to up their game significantly though.
Great, gritty and intense match. The bundles at the final buzzer had been brewing all game. Have to say Holtby played a blinder in the Washington net as well.
Seen the Rangers at MSG, Air Canada and Bell Centre but only regular season games. Never managed a play off match but I imagine the atmosphere is amazing. Saw the Rangers vs the Islanders at MSG and that was good enough but am told the fans crank it up a few notches for the play offs.
Now they have sneaked into the play offs, hopefully the Blueshirts can compete. They have the best 'tender and a strong defensive line. Need Mr Nash firing on all cylinders.
Let's Go Rangers
