It will get a LOT more interesting when I turn on the 'show WHO left the comments' when drunk one night.
(One can of cider down tonight, more to follow)
I've just installed a new Plugin which displays your latest Reputation comments as a new tab on your Profile. Click 'My Profile' on the top right of any page of NSC and select the right-most tab.
I've DISABLED showing who left the comments as it seems a bit unfair to change the rules on those...

1. Again, it's on as a trial, to see if it brings any improvement to NSC. If it doesn't it will be removed.
2. The labels themselves are a bit of fun I thought up in about 30 seconds.
3. I don't know who wonders why "some people get so f***ed off with NSC" - I certainly don't. By every metric...
If you click on your own 'star' you will see your own score.
Other than that, I think the intention is that most of it is 'secret' so that people don't use prior votes to influence their own. Human nature is probably such that many will immediately seek to give a negative to someone that gave a...
All I've done is turn it on and left the default settings in place. They can be adjusted. If we feel 1000 posts is too generous, it can be altered to give less credence to post volume.
You're confusing Reputation Level and Reputation Power.
Your 54 is equivalent to my 221. It's the cumulative score of people approving and disapproving of you.
Your power is currently 16...

So, everyone has 2 scores...
1. Their reputation level. Mine, as I type, is currently 221. This is the score that moves as other people approve or disapprove me.
2. Your reputation 'power'. This is how much influence you currently have. Mine is currently 26. So, if I 'approve' your post, your...
Current parameters...
Everyone starts with 10 points
Administrator's 'power' is the same as any other user (i.e. I've not set it so I can give people +/- 10,000 if I want)
For every 365 number of days, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
For every 1000 number of posts, users gain 1...
In all seriousness, it could be a viable alternative to post counts since if someone new comes along and contributes positively they could receive a flurry of 'approvals' that highlights them as someone worth listening to.
Whereas those who troll and abuse will quickly receive 'disapprovals'...
Sorry, I think we're getting lost in words here.
You can either 'approve' of someone or 'disapprove'. When you do this you influence their reputation points - upwards when you approve, downwards when you disapprove.
Not sure how well this will work.
