When the cold water tank in the loft has the holes cut out for the tank connectors, something like this is left in the hole cutter and I have seen the odd one left in a cold tank, but as you have said its 2 1/2 inch diameter it's too big, also the edges look too smooth. My guess is it got into...

I did know what you meant as I have worked in plenty of bungalows in Seaford, some of the Southbank Homes bungalows have some funny hot water pipe work where the hot water draw off pipe comes off the vent in the loft. The cold feed pipe from the cold water storage tank to the hot water cylinder...

Rule of Plumbing number 1- Fill up the kettle before turning off the water. Most of the time I work in occupied homes and I always tell the customer when the water is going off, and ask them if they have enough water, the answer is usually yes, I then ask if the kettle is filled, 9 times out of...

I was fitting a new waste to a kitchen sink for an old lady, she asked me if I wanted some tea, I had my head under the sink, next minute I had the contents of her tea pot on my head. Oh how we laughed.:)

Do you have two bath taps or a mixer tap with shower attachment? Is the cold water to your bathroom from the mains or the tank?

I know you are trying to help but this will not be the case Doug, it sounds like it's his hot bath tap only, I don't think half of Seaford would have air in a hot pipe to their bath. Have you had air in your cold main to your kitchen sink tap?
