"Lets go to Brighton to get stuck in traffic"
"Lets go to Brighton to walk freely in the pedestrianized zones"
I know which I'd rather visit. Bring in the congestion charges as no more than 6% of the personal traffic needs to be in the town centre.
Riding without a helmet is personal choice. It's not against the law or in the Highway Code. I agree with you on lights though, stupid idea not to use them, stupid.
The amount of times I've waved down cars to put their lights on. You would have thought with todays technology they'd be beeped at when it's dark or something.
I know, I mean the old system does allow you a little time to make a head start. I'm all against those that completely ignore the lights, but heading off just before the cars is usually safer, if clear.
No. There's a 3-4 second gap between the 'red man' and the lanes green light. If it's pedestrian free you go for the good of yourself and the car. If a slow pedestrian is still crossing the car will have to be as patient as you, as that's what it boils down to. Unfortunately the car drivers are...
Or just jumping to conclusions without knowing the full story. The cyclist may have not noticed the junction was clear. That happens to both bikes and cars.
(again, jumping to conclusions)
Sometimes it is safer for the cyclist to head off first if clear, hence more cycle green lights which...
But it is. It's breaking the highway code, as is going through a light. You're not giving the cyclists room to move off first, it's no wonder they head off early.
Maybe if the cars respected the cyclists rules the cyclists wouldn't have to break them.
One rule for one . . .
No, about 2 in 10 goes past me actually and they get a "lights!" shout from me, so more like 20%. The % of drivers that stop in the cycling zone at lights is about 9 out of 10. 90%. Who's worse?
Centre Hove to the Amex in 25 mins on a bike now. Im usually a bit sweaty but a couple of pints is an award. Home usually in 35, waiting for all the dawdlers walking towards the car park. They should put in a cycle lane, maybe I'll suggest it.
I didn't, I merely said it wasnt possible to go double breasted. Buses and cars going 30 miles an hour within cms of cyclists wasn't safe. I nearly came off twice over the past two seasons. They've now widened the cycle lane to avoid deaths. Not difficult to understand is it?
