[Football] Leandro Trossard **Sold To Arsenal 20/01/2023**

He was excellent today, probably should’ve scored himself too. At the heart of all they did well in that first half.

And I’m not even sure we did take a hit, I think it’s a good deal for everyone. I was more annoyed about Dan Burn than I am this one.

Mine isn’t embargoed, it’s not a press release or anything. Just a “here’s what’s happening” WhatsApp message. He knows I post here, probably lurks too… But yeah, it’s done.

My ITK who told me about the training ground incident has confirmed this is DONE. Just the signing and press release to come.

Some of these posts are embarrassing…

I don’t doubt calls were made to Chelsea even while negotiations were ongoing. “You don’t want to miss out to a rival do you, Todd? What would your fans say?”

RDZ isn't able to rectify the contract situation. Trossard, like Maupay, didn’t want to sign a new deal. We triggered his contract extension to preserve his value, he made it clear he wants to leave with dreadful performances on the pitch and in training. DeZerbi dropped him after his training...

[Football] Leandro Trossard **Sold To Arsenal 20/01/2023**

Yep £25m sounds about right given his contract situation. £12m from Spurs is a joke. I know Levy is a chancer but come on…

Ultimately the player has to agree to move once they have a contract. You can’t force a player to move - you can try and manage them out, say it’s best for their career, etc - but if a player wants to train with the u18’s and collect 5 years worth of £50k a week, they can.

Exactly this. There are all kinds of deals done, but nowadays it’s all agent led with the clubs being the final call rather than the first. Player power.

He gets an awful lot wrong, his “misses” are buried and the “hits” emphasised. It’s absolute bullshit 101. Try watching a psychic doing a cold read, it’s the same principle. Common sense (X player is available, X club have money), a few insider tips here and there and a lot of bravado. I saw a...

[Football] Leandro Trossard **Sold To Arsenal 20/01/2023**

A lot of deals - the majority - are done by agents talking to buying clubs about their clients demands. For example, Trossard’s agent and several clubs are having conversations about wages, bonuses, signing on fees and getting expectations agreed. Then it’s simply a case of going to the selling...

[Football] Leandro Trossard **Sold To Arsenal 20/01/2023**

We never accepted or were going to accept Man City’s offer, which was very low in comparison to his value at the time of selling. Him kicking off over this was the catalyst to him actually going - that plus Chelsea’s comically large offer. This is why he got dogs abuse at the Amex the likes of...

I think we’d do a deal at around £25m - but I think an international loan with fee is the most likely outcome

I wouldn’t normally do this (quote myself), and I appreciate it adds no extra “credibility” - but I’ve just had an identical story told to me by somebody else attached to the club. No question.
