I also think it would be good because it would give managers the chance to turn things round rather get sacked by trigger-happy chairmen because they've lost a few games.
They definitely had him lined up according to avid Chelsea mate (told me this before the news). Whether there was any 'tapping up' is a different matter.
I don't think enough has been made of this. The fact that they took the manager and backroom staff of a rival team in the same division - there should definitely be some rule about doing that mid-season.
Imagine if Ten Hag had continued to lose games and United sacked him and replaced him with...
I do kind of like the idea of having a manager and a squad and having to stick with them for the whole season, but I guess it's only fair to have a mid-season window in case key players get injured and need replacing.
It shouldn't happen though. There should be a transfer window for managers. Outside the window, clubs should only be able to recruit out of contract managers or promote internally.
Striking sinilarities though - they are having their best-ever season. Lost some of their best players over the summer but after seven games are undefeated and second in the table to PSG.
Frank Haise now evens favourite with the bookies.
I know a Lens fan who is incandescent. We can't exactly complain about being shafted by Chelsea if we do the same to Lens, can we?
