I'm not in the least bit interested in getting a NSP account, but could you enlighten me as to why there is such a fascination on that site with this one and its members?

There's nothing 'wrong' with it. It's an internet forum, which attracts people from all walks of life, the vast majority of which are Albion fans. Some might want to talk about football, others might not, hence the variety of threads.
