It's a FACT.
Great keepers never do well in shoot outs. Look at the likes of Peter Shilton. It's always the total flappers, the ones who look completely El Loco elsewhere (or the Germans) who are the heroes.
Why do we keep suggesting they're any less fit than we are?
They are full time professionals, and they probably spend more time running around in their league than we do in ours, with our lovely "pass it around the back" style compared to most of the BSP's boot & chase tactic.
I was thinking the same...
Incidentally, I've just noticed that Bridcutt has been battling away manfully against a tide of mediocrity in there, so, faint round of applause for him.
Just wondering...aside from our defenders, we rarely win any headers, do we? All well and good while defending, and I don't want us to hoof it, but it does help at attacking corners if you have more than one player that you might think could nod it in.
Not just this game, just a general...
What happened to the Wrexham player there? Didn't look like anything, they seemed to carry on playing around him, then all of a sudden he's carried off sucking on oxygen.
Can't see Hoskins lasting long, the team as a whole have shown marginally more interest this half but Hoskins has been disappointing.
The weak points in Wrexham's team look to be the fat lad at centre half and the comedy goalkeeper. Then again when I think of comedy keepers, I just think of...
(1) surely he's slightly injured otherwise he'd be in the squad tonight
(2) Why would we put him at right back when he's an outstanding centre half? Dunk & Hall haven't looked massively solid tonight (not having a dig considering their age) so I'd rather have an experienced player in there.
