    [Football] Heysel

That’s just factual. The Liverpool fans I know are not from the city and find that attitude towards things like the national anthem awkward and embarrassing. My old boss is a regular at Anfield and a keen Royalist. He was at the parade on Monday. He just keeps quiet on such things, sings the...

Oh, I thought they had booed the national anthem, eg at the Carabao Cup final? My mistake. https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool-fans-boo-national-anthem-why-wembley-b2501304.html#:~:text=That%20anger%20against%20social%20and,on%20the%20day%20of%20King

The club no. I do detest all their ‘Scouse not English’ and booing of the national anthem, pulling down Union Jacks bollocks amongst an increasing number of their fans though. It’s a relatively recent thing too. The Liverpool fans I know are nothing like that but then none of them are from...

Sounds from that as though he was from Croydon?

    [Football] Heysel

I was at university at the time. The guys in the flat above me, including a proper scouser, all went to the game and I only didn’t because I had an exam that week. I heard lots of stories about that day but the main emotion was sadness in that they were swapping shirts, scarves, flags before the...

    [Misc] Retirement

I was recently tempted to invest in a general sale ticket in the Riverside Stand for Fulham v Citeh, but the market price of £125 seemed very expensive and about twice the fair value with a predicted 100% depreciation over 2 hours, so I gave it a miss!

Apparently they will also get their own roped off queue for the train and a reserved carriage, with a trolley service.

Reading that screen tests my contact lenses at the best of times, moving it up there is not going to help with that!

Please, no swearing or lewd behaviour within sight or earshot of the new pub shelf, or you’ll be joining the queue for the train earlier than you planned. I wonder if bottle tops will be allowed up there?

[Albion] Two new stadiums next year

That small terraced away end used to be twice as big but I think there was a safety issue and half of it had to be removed Dramatic location though: Edit - the safety reason referred to was that the terrace was basically held up by Meccano:

As I imagine Everton tickets will be very hard to get, I’m planning to go there instead for the rugby league international against Australia In November, and keep fingers crossed the forthcoming fixture list is my friend that weekend!
