    [Albion] If...

Super unlikely the teams that were shit this season will be shit next season. Also look at the top five. Liverpool, Arsenal, City, Newcastle, Chelsea. Newcastle being there is the only anonmaly from the past two decades, and it's not a huge surprise that they are there. We are operating...

[Football] VAR, 6 years in - Keep it or bin it?

Keep it. Some things the referee video team get wrong but it saves so many howlers.

[Football] UEFA coefficients and Europe 2025/26

9th would have only been available if an english team would have won it AND qualified for a non UCL place. So basically if Aston Villa won the UCL and finished in UEL or UECL slot. It would not have been available if Arsenal had won the UCL and finished in a UCL spot. 8th is the only way to...

[Football] Bradford Fire 40 Years Ago

I made a film on the fire about 15 years ago for the beeb. I watched all the footage from the day, which isn't available to the public. I still have flashbacks just from watching those tapes. What a horrible event. RIP.

    [Food] Chili/hot sauces

This stuff blows your f**kin mind but the spice mix is incredibly moorish. I can't live without it.

I've been going through some stuff and forgot to cancel. Can afford it but priorities have changed. Luckily my nephew's like going so they can have the ticket.

[Finance] Does earning 100k a year make you feel well off these days?

It's a slightly dull debate this because people will always say "but what about the people who have no where near this amount'. i remember 6 figures being this magical number in the mid 2000s when I properly started out. But to have the same spending power of 56k back then, you need 100+...

[Finance] Does earning 100k a year make you feel well off these days?

Utilities are near enough 900 quid these days for a 4 bed house. Food shop for a family of four is getting close to 200 quid a week. Add in your car insurance etc. Got kids? Kids clubs etc come and replace your nursery fees, wrap around care (albeit not the same).

    [Football] Relegation candidates next season

You'd have to bet on three promoted teams however squads do run their course. Look at Leicester's relegation season, it came out of nowhere. And Manchester city this year.

[Misc] How many on here went to a private school

I did a mixture of state, then private and then state again. I rarely fitted in anywhere but would say that the private system had a bit more pastoral care - but the education was about the same. My kids go to state primary and the eldest in particular cannot cope with the environment, and is...

[Food] So far this year we have served more free tap waters than any other drink…..

The cost of all of it is insane. I've got a bit too used to 7 quid pints. Had a period of time off the pop and noticed a) drinking is so expensive now and b) the cost of soft drinks is not much better. I paid 4.50 for a 330ml ginger beer. It was pound for pound more expensive than a pint. None...

[Albion] the "assistance" priority train ramp post-match

Reminder that not all disabilities are visible. My daughter really struggles with the crowds and being squashed (she is ASD) and is registered disabled. Not that she was there last night, but some people may be registered and have similar issues.

[Albion] Brighton & Hove Albion vs AFC Bournemouth *** Official Match Thread ***

I thought Bournemouth were the best side at the amex this season and we we did well to win. Lamptey did well against semenya. Gomez looks like he is the real deal and I'm smug that I was calling for welbeck soon after halftime as I felt he could be a game changer. I hope we both get Europe...

[Albion] Are you going to the Chelsea Cup game?

yeah. i could not go because of family reasons - and as it turns out injuring my back on the saturday (i'm still doubled in pain now). I commented on here about me not thinking that the psychology of the on the day price rise being wise, especiaslly when there were plenty of tickets available...

[Albion] The Chelsea wins.....and reactions to them.

It wasn't brilliant but we were the better team and we deserved to win. Can't remember another major chance for either side. Last week was an anomaly.

[Albion] The 3/4 full stadium paradox

The early years of the amex were fun because we never had more than 20 and then 25k in. Easy to grab a beer easy to get home.
