That wouldn't work because District Councils are not responsible for schools (that's the County Council's area). They are responsible for other things such as environmental facilities (parks, street sweeping etc), council housing (unless they have sold it all off), recycling and waste disposal...
And why should people vote for the party (Tories) which voted against the stadium on Brighton and Hove Council? Doesn't make any sense at all!
It sounds to me like the Brighton Labour Party are using the issue as a political football. They don't like anyone else than Labour beating the Tories -...
...not the whole picture. Yes there is Norman and co in Lewes but the Lib Dems on Brighton and Hove Council were all supportive of the stadium and voted for it on the planning committee...
But moving on, congratulations to all involved with organising the fringe meeting and the march - as...
You seem to have forgotten that the Tories were just as supportive of the war as Blair was!
So if they were in power, they would have gone along with Bush as well.
hmm...I disagree, some people were doubting their rights to have views.
And don't forget Prescott taking half a year to read the inspector's report....that also delayed the hearing date unecessarily.
If you re-read my post then you would see that I agree with you on most things:
- I realise that Lewes council covers much more than Lewes town itself!
- I agree very much with you that it is down to LDC to hold a referendum, and
- I agree that the benefits would be positive, (e.g. more people...
Although I'm also frustrated at any delay, (be it Prescott, Lewes or whoever), Lewes DC have every right in the eyes of the law to raise concerns at issues that affect their area.
Remember that although the stadium is in Brighton and Hove, it is right on the border of Lewes DC, so it will have...
Totally agree. I used to have a disabled boss and his life was hell trying to get from his car to a shop. Until the transport system in this country improves for disabled people, they are going to need their parking spaces.
Looks like a few questions come up more than once...maybe every now and then putting them into a dedicated thread and getting people to look at those first before they start asking the same questions all over again?
Good work to the Insider - its great to see the club making an effort to be...
Bonjela normally blasts the little bastards after a day or so. I also find that chilling out for an evening and getting a good night's sleep works well, as for me they are nearly always linked with stress at work...
Have done so. I don't share your total faith in the Labour govt to behave itself and not meddle in the affairs of civil/public sector servants (remember this is a govt that got involved in an illegal war, then got away with forcing the resignation of the BBC director general and chairman as a...
Agree with Smart Mart. I'm starting to think that the conspiracy theorists have a point, yes. And London Irish - despite WHAT evidence to the contrary exactly? The evidence at the moment points in the direction of the conspiracy theorists - that this is being stiched up.
