How would you rate Chris Hughton so far?

He's far too negative in his outlook and selections. This was summed up for me by his attitude over James Tilley in the last game when he claimed he didn't put him on for longer in case we lost. Hold on - our "senior" strikers couldn't hit a barn-door wider than the one Billy used to miss, so...

'Sussex County League Football Returns To Withdean Stadium Next Season'

Preston Park. I think it was County League Two.

Congratulations to AFC Bournemouth on securing promotion to the Premier League

They attack at a speed which our current squad couldn't match if they played on an empty pitch!

    Beram Kayal

I suggest Hughton sits down with him next week and asks him if he's got four or five mates with similar attitudes and abilities who might fancy coming to Brighton. That way we'd have at least half a team of triers!

    People need to realize...

I'm afraid on recent evidence, it's not just tinkering and a couple of strikers that are needed. I would suggest that we require at least two full-backs (Calderon and Bruno as back-ups), two central defenders (with the fading Greer in reserve) a creative midfielder ( I can't agree that ours is...

    Gordon Greer

He's basically a Division One player who had a couple of half decent seasons in the Championship.

****The Official (were loose) Match Thread, Brighton vs Watford***

Missed chances and a total inability to get crosses beyond the first defender. Time for a major clearout from front to back.

****The Official (were loose) Match Thread, Brighton vs Watford***

Time to dump Greer, Bruno and Halford.

I promise not to laugh, I promise not to....

As it's his birthday, why don't they ask Gerrard to present the cup?

    How poor is Harford?

Initially, I was quite impressed but in recent games he has been caught out a few times and is not looking as solid. If he was consistently good he would not be out on loan. Assuming, optimistically, that Greer will not be a regular next season, I don't think Halford would be a strong enough...

    CH team selection

Much as I admire Calderon as a person and for his commitment to the club, he is not a right winger, and nor is Bruno. However, Hughton's insistence on playing two elderly Spanish right backs together is one of the many baffling selections he continues to make. Yes, Ince has made mistakes but it...

Should the players do a lap of honour after the Watford game?

Plan B? I'm not convinced there's even been a Plan A for the last few weeks!

We do NOT take on loan players with a commitment to play them for X games or Y minutes...

OK -I'll rephrase it. Given this, Gary Gardner must have had some decent dirt on Sami Hyypia but it doesn't explain the reason for Leon Best having played so much.

Congratulations to AFC Bournemouth on securing promotion to the Premier League

They play in the same division as us and operate in the same transfer market. Their two main defenders are players we gave them. They have a young manager who clearly knows how to select and motivate his team. They operate on crowds less than half of our lowest ones. They are top and looking at...

    Booing Best was shocking

I didn't boo or cheer anyone last night. The performance of the whole team left me cold. I guess they were trying but to be frank, the only way we were going to score was by a fluke and in the end, we were lucky to escape with a point. I can't see us scoring another goal or getting another point...

But I know we'll score again, some sunny day.

Does that mean the sun won't shine again before July?

    Jimmy Muitt

I can see no harm in giving one or two of the Development Squad a couple of games before the end of the season. Walton has already proved he's good enough, the others can't do any worse than some of the current squad, several of whom, hopefully, will be going at the end of the season.

    Football programmes, are they outdated?

I quite agree. I used to buy a programme for every game I went to and always kept the programmes from games I refereed. I stopped buying them when we moved to the Amex.
