Proper goalkeeping talent, best young keeper I've ever seen at Brighton, could pull off blinding saves, pluck the ball out of the air, then had a little wobble and was suddenly ostracised.
Apparently not good enough with his feet. Really? I'm watching Steele mess up pass after pass, clearance...
According to the Secret Scout on the BBC he is 'One to Watch'
"Darius Lane from Brighton is another name to look out for. He’s a central midfielder, French-American and just got called up to represent America. He’s a box-to-box, all-action style player and another one that I think has a really...
Bit annoying eh! The full revenge was definitely on today... in the end they did the professional job to see it home, but i was dreaming....
Will settle for 4 lol :p
I just don't get it. Teams that play two strikers up front, expecially two tall strikers, tend to be playing long balls for knock downs or go wide and sling crosses in. Seems totally alien to our style.
We're half an hour in and we've had two good chances for strikers, ball over the top from...
Yet another important game we fail to win. Really struggling to think of a single Premier League victory that can be classed as a 'good win'. Sure, we can beat a load of midtable cloggers, we can beat relegation fodder, we can beat big 6 teams when they're off form and having a mini crisis. But...
I mean, we knew we had a good chance, maybe even favourites. We knew Liverpool fans were worried. But for a game to be THAT one-sided against a champions league finalist from last season, against Liverpool, arguably the greatest English club, wow! WOW!
Had a good old boo today, have had no time for Potter and delighted we smashed him today. That's the closure I needed, that's the humiliation for Potter and his team that he needed, and now I'm good.
Now I can happily say I appreciate his role in our journey, I wish him the best as a young...
Going to get relegated with a whimper, what the hell are the club doing?
Ha ha :p
Bloody great that today. Thought before the game that we could give them a shoeing, regretting that thought a minute in, but in the end we certainly did.
Amazing bollocks in the team to keep coming back from...
That was a fantastic atmosphere tonight, I wasn't expecting it at all, but it was loud and lively and I usually say i hate drums but it didn't half help build the atmosphere to a crescendo. Probably only a couple of brighton games have beaten that atmosphere in my memory.
There's an adage that the best time to strengthen from a position of strength. Having just finished 9th, we've never been stronger in our history. So is this the summer for major investment in our squad?
Ever since Potter arrived we've been essentially a development club, bringing in young...
Brighton and Hove Albion men's team, 16th in League 1 (third tier) when he took over in 2009, now 9th in Premier League.
Brighton and Hove Albion women's team, 10th in National League Southern division (third tier) when he took over in 2009, now 7th in Women's super league.
Union St...
If rumours are to be believed, or contracts not renewed, it could be any or all of Bissouma, Gross, Cucurella, Trossard, Maupay, MacAllister, Welbeck, Sanchez, Lamptey and big Shane.
The body language watchers will be out in force!
This post, made a few days ago in the 'Potter's flaw' thread, and others in the same thread, got me thinking. I thought I'd make a new thread on it because I find it interesting how previous narratives can be hard to shift.
Last season this happened a lot, no doubt at all, we scored, sat back...
Just why? Maupay rounds Krul, Krul doesn't touch the ball and their feet clearly make contact. Maupay doesn't stick his foot out or change its direction, he tries to stay on his feet for a stride before going down. I really don't understand this one.
Thought they were getting Harry Kane, didn't.
Thought they were getting Cristiano Ronaldo, didn't.
Mendy arrested.
Pep says he's leaving in 2023.
Still time to pull a Haaland or Mbappe out of the fire I guess :lolol:
If you entered the ballots for the various home games fans could go to - Southampton, Sheffield, Man City - and were unsuccessful in getting tickets each time, how much did you effectively end up paying for your 2020-21 season ticket?
20 years ago, almost to the day, 17th February 2001, we played away at Cheltenham, the infamous burger van on fire game. Good day out I recall, rather marred by losing 3-1 to a struggling team who played 70 minutes with 10 men. We were second in division 3, the bottom division, on our way to the...
... those who understand binary and those who don't.
Our last five league games 0-1, 1-0, 0-0, 1-0, 1-0.
Have to say I didn't see this coming under Potter, his only previous 1-0 was Norwich A. It's said the best managers builds from the back, and it's taken a while but what a defensive shape...
What happens to us as a team, when we play in a match that we really need to win, and we then embarass ourselves, like tonight. It has happened so many times over the years, and yet when we play sides like Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester United, we play above ourselves, and the luck is against us...
