Twice now, they have said that they couldn't deliver a parcel as no-one was in. We were in. The bell works. We have a dog that barks when there is someone at the door. the porch was unlocked with a note saying please leave parcel in porch. Neither time was a card left although the tracking page...
Any war historians on here?
My 91 year-old dad is writing his memoirs and is currently covering WW2. He clearly remembers going round houses collecting books for troops. Apparently the more you collected the higher "rank" you were awarded with Field Marshall being the highest. He was very proud...
Morning folks. Just wondering if anyone has experience of this?
My elderley parents are with RAC and broke down yesterday. When they called the RAC all they got was a recorded message telling them to use the app. Apparently it never cut to a real person. They eventually got a younger relative...
Thought I'd consult the wise on here while everyone is still on a high.
We helped our daughter buy a studio flat about 7 years ago. The service charge was £40 per month and went up to £60 just after she moved in. She casually mentioned yesterday that it has now gone up to £260 per month, or...
We've bought tickets for tomorrow night, me and Mrs B and 2 for grandchildren. Trying to assign them and found out the the kids passports aren't in date.
Anyone been through this and know if you definitely need valid ID for kids? Any suggestions on how to assign tickets to kids who don't have...
My old Dad ordered a book which hasn't turned up. The seller is very friendly and has offered to send a replacement, but using his tracking info he saw that the parcel has a status of :
Pending
As requested Burgess Hill DO is forwarding this item to a different address as part of our...
As per the title we are looking for recommendations for the occasional overnight stay for our GSD.
We used to use a lovely lady who took dogs into her house but she has retired now. I'd much rather go with a personal recommendation than picking something from the internet. House boarding rather...
30 years old and taken over the world. Not bad for some kids hobby project.
Seem to remember that I first started using it with version 0.97. Had an Atari Falcon at the time so had to cross-compile it on a PC at work. It seemed like magic when it first booted up!
Any other long-term Linux...
A friend has Alexa, a large collection of CDs and live recordings and a really good hifi. However he'd like the convenience for parties and stuff of just asking Alexa to play stuff but still sounding decent.
I know he uses iTunes on Windows (Boooooooo!!). And from the quick investigations I...
Ordered some white vinegar from Amazon back in May. Never arrived. Looking at "My Orders" i found a hidden away note to say that it had been damaged in transit and a refund would be made in 5-7 days. Still no sign of a refund, and every method I try to contact Amazon gets block. The seller is...
Mrs B suffered an ankle fracture about 8 weeks ago. The bone has obviously healed, and she can walk on it, but the pain is still pretty intense. She has a high pain threshold (I once hit her on the head with a sledgehammer and she just rubbed her head!) so I know the pain is genuinely high...
No trains coming south, so will need to drive from 3 bridges and running late. Anyone any suggestions for parking options anywhere. Always come by train, so haven't a clue. Pretty please?
BBC are reporting that Derby have sold their ground (on the books with a value of £41m) to one of Mel Morris's companys for £80m and are leasing it back.
What do we think? Slippery slope, or just the modern way?
We have a 7 seater that we take the (removable) seats out and use for camping. Insurance company are fine with it. It is not re-registered as a "motor caravan".
Do we have to put all of the seats back in for MOT test or can we leave it as if we never want to use the back seats again?
Tried...
Anyone else using BT broadband and having issues. Done a bit of investigating and looks like their DNS servers are not responding. Temporarily switched to OpenDNS and everything has sprung into life.
Is it just me? Seems unlikely.
Our Grandson is 4 today, and we have promised that we will take him for a day out in Brighton. He loves the pier and mooching along the seafront, but does anyone have any other ideas of things that kids might like in Brighton. He's done the SeaLife centre a couple of times, so anything else...
Anyone else watch the film on BBC2 last night?
Horsham was my team when I was a kid (we never had a car so I didn't get to see the Albion til '73), but I was completely transfixed by Georgie. Compared to what I'd seen at Queen St he was a from a different planet. Funnily enough, it was the...
