Coming out of the pictures last night, just having seen Nicolas Cage's latest film, I overheard a bloke telling some people who were just about to go in, that this picture was brilliant - the film of the year so far.
I hope they enjoyed it and are not out looking for that bloke this morning...
Do you ever get those chronic email chain letters from a misguided member of the God Squad? No, me neither, but I was talking to someone last night who is plagued by the damn things and it gave me an idea.
Apparently the "best" ones are some sort of highly designed PDF file which promise...
In preparing my 2009 baseball season preview post, I came across this.
Is this guy real or is he using his NSC nom de plume?
"It's a great way to kick off Spring Training, and well deserved by Fredi," Marlins president of baseball operations Larry Beinfest said

Ten days before opening day and the poxy rumours appear to be true. The terrestrial TV viewer is facing no baseball on TV this season. BOLLOX.

I just got another mailing from DFS despite me sending all the previous ones back with explicit instructions what they might do with their latest sale or special offer. Why they haven't removed me from their database I have no idea. Still if they want to waste their money, that's up to them...

......and amazed to see a resident of this town proudly announce, in the feedback at the foot of the story, that he buys a paper every day "mainly for the showbiz gossip" :nono:
Is Mark Rogers on NSC?
Jimmy Stewart is one of my favourite actors and this is one of his best films.
Must remember to set the video before going to the pub/match.
If you haven't seen this film, you might want to do the same.

Liking a bet, but never ever being prepared to bet against the Albion, I have been going for TOTAL GOALS - 4 or more, in the last couple of home games.
0-3 down to Crewe, I was as pi55ed off as anyone. At 0-4, not quite so bad.
It was a gutter when the poxy Shrimpers took the lead the other...
Not that I really give a sh1t ..... but why is it teams like Tottingham try hard to qualify to get in it, and then, twelve months later when they're in it, play weakened sides so they can get knocked out, so they can concentrate on qualifying to get into it for next season?
Premiershite? No...
With the club giving us free coaches to Luton, and suspecting that your average NSCer likes a bargain I wonder which is going to be the most NSC infested coach on Tuesday night?
I believe there are eight free coaches, but if I'm wrong you'll let me know.
Despite the disappointment of the result on Tuesday, I managed to pick up a few bob by betting on "four goals or more" at 11/4.
I've done the same again today (at 21/10) and had a variety of players to score first with a 2-2 final score.
Backing us to win has only cost me money and probably...

My mate and I used to get down to Riley's in London Road for the odd evening on the green baize, but now he's got a couple of kids he ain't allowed out any more. :nono:
So I wondered whether there are any other would be snooker players on NSC? and whether we might get a few people together for...
I am looking to NSC - and presumably our numerous Manhattan contingent - for a bit of advice and possibly some recommendations to help me rent a New York apartment for a week in August (the week the Cardinals are in town naturally)

I seem to remember seeing a thread on here about what you would nominate for Room 101, but despite a search I can't find it.
But I have an urgent addition for my Room 101 and it is

Find myself working up in "wor" north east this week and have just bought myself a ticket to see the Toon against the Tigers tomorrow night.
Its "the best seat in the ground" and is a cut price £25 (same as Withdean) for this game only. The same seat costs £70 (FFS) against Sunderland next...
