Yes totally, Pervis does a huge amount off the ball to help create space for Mitoma etc.
The trouble is that when he bombs up the pitch and we lose the ball he is often so far out of position. That's where FH has to get the defensive midfield shape sorted out.
But for 29 of our games our attack was as good as or better than our defence and our fullbacks were definitely part of the reason we did well in an attacking sense.
There's a strange narrative that we were bad defensively last season, when we only lost 9 games all season (11 including cups, one on penalties).
We had perhaps 5 really bad defensive performances all season.
