My mate who has a workshop down a lane near Broad oak brede reconds he has seen a big black cat in brede woods while walking his dog. he said even his dog was shaking with fear.

Totally this, Maybe not the downs area but this part of sussex north of Hastings is very wooded & wild in a lot of areas where it would be easy to hide.

There are ferel cats around here but not that big.

There is more to Hastings than a seafront & bedding plants,The old town is just unique.Hastings country park with its glens which are over 10,000 yrs old,ferns,wild flowers etc is easily as nice as the downs. I once was lucky enough to watch a sparrow hawk take a great tit clean off my bird feeder from about 12 feet away. amazing sight. :clap2:

Please all put up different bird boxs for sparrows & starlings etc as they are endangered now. we have lots of tits. I made and put up a sparrow nest box on my house this spring.( 3 box's together as they like to nest in a colony) & guess what, we had blue tits successfully raise their chicks in...

Put them out the reach of cats,north facing in the shade or the chicks will cook.
