Yup. We don't seem to be able to get the recruitment bit right at all (in terms of who is running it). Maybe Ashworth will have better luck with that. But also, Ashworth is unlikely to have too much say in Hughton's successor.
Poyet wasn't right (although it took a while after he left to prove him wrong!). I agree about the "teams at our level" mantra hasn't helped him - only time will tell now.
I don't think there is any correlation between Ashworth's arrival and Hughton's departure. The wheels were coming off before Ashworth's arrival, plain and simple.
Seriously? Were you at the games?
v West Ham - Possession 35%-65% Shots for 9 (On Target 4), Shots against 17
v Newcastle - Possession 32%-68% Shots for 8 (On Target 2), Shots against 27
v Wolves - Possession 40%-60% Shots for 7 (On Target 1), Shots against 25
Stats don't tell everything...
It's lazy journalism and sensationalist crap like this that will put the BAME management movement back. And yes, we do still have a black manager at the club in Hope Powell, so this is even more stinking bullshit.
That doesn't surprise me in the slightest. If for no other reason, considering the social-media use of many lacking-in-common-sense footballers, they should nearly always be the last to know.
My surprise was that Naylor appeared to be suggesting that nobody else in the senior management team...
A wizard who has never finished a season by keeping a team in the top division.
I'm pretty sure that CH would have had a fairly large say in who came and went on the player front.
Clear you don't agree with TB's decision this morning, but I daresay it is you who is venturing a rather false...
I find this a very interesting comment in the latest Arsegas piece from Naylor confirming our interest in Potter:
"Bloom alone took the decision to dispense with Hughton late last night". Looking like Barber and everybody else were in the dark as to what the Chairman was planning before last...
Amazingly it’s still in our hands. Win against Newcastle and that will almost certainly be enough.
But therein lies the problem. We don’t even look like scoring never mind winning.
At the risk of stating the obvious, our survival WILL depend on Cardiff’s results, not ours!
I think the late winner last night will have deflated the squad. I said after the Fulham game that I would rather we lost 0-2 than be 2-0 up and lose 2-4, because that is the type of result that destroys confidence - and look at what has happened since. After what we put into the game last...
This. Again, not that we should care but for those paying upwards of £2k for a season ticket at places like Tottenham are going to be royally p*ssed to watch too many games like that.
I did think it was an amazing defensive show last night, and actually, one that should be applauded...
I'm sure this has been done before, but's very interesting to see the comparison's between CH's season 1 & 2 at Norwich, and how our season 2 is panning out.
Norwich season 1 & 2 at home:
W D L (Season 1)
8 7 4
W D L (Season 2)
6 6 7
Brighton season 1 & 2 home:
W D L (Season 1)...
Sorry, what’s not to believe? There is a reason why Labour didn’t win the last election when they probably should have done, and that is because enough people in this country still realise that we can’t endlessly spend our way out of tight public finances! Or is that a fallacy too?
Actually...
Mmm, conveniently forgetting that the reason why the Tories are cutting is because the last Labour government left no money and a mess. But hey, we’ll gloss over that one.
That's pretty much how I have been feeling for months on this now. The Tories can't get their bloody act together on the one main thing that was always going to dominate this parliament, and it will almost certainly, certainly open the door to a Corbynrade government that this country simply...
