I think too many people are still affected by the Archer days. Then we had a chairman who didn't care about the club and wanted to run it down and close it. In those days we had every right to worry that decisions being made at the top were not in the clubs best interest.
Today, I would argue...
Yes, I thought that as well. The only thing about Oscar's resingation he said he was disappointed about was that he told the palyer immediately after the game on Sunday.
When I was at an Amex Legend Tour Alan Mullery explained that he left the club because he had agreed to sell Mark Lawrenson to Man Utd at the end of one week because the club needed £400,000 in the bank by Monday. Then Mike Bamber went over his head and sold the player to Liverpool at the...
What's a shame is that I can remember four years ago when Brez first came to the club thinking he was a good keeper. But we were league one then and we now have had eighteen months of having PIG and the difference in class and confidence is huge. It's a sad thought that last night may have been...
Useless piece of information: that was also the last game Rowland Myers did the matchday pa. His former Radio Sussex colleague, Richard Lindfield was on the mic for the final Goldstone match if I remember correctly.
Slightly off topic, but can I ask about youth/development squad expenses? I think on Albion Roar it was said that these costs come outside of FFP. If that's so, do the transfer fees and wages of any player signed for the development squad not count in FFP terms?
Excuse my ignorance, but if youth and development costs aren't included in the FFP rules, does that mean that when we sign a player for the development squad their transfer fee and wages are exempt from FFP?
I'm confused.... We've made a loss of £14.7m last season. This season our loss won't be more than £8m but our playing budget has increased slightly compared to last season. So our revenue will be up by £7m this season? Where's that income coming from then?
Wasn't he still living in Birmingham when he played for us and just trained with the rest of the players one day a week? Think that was one of the reasons Alan Mullery didn't keep him on when he took over... and he signed Dale Jasper instead!
About this time last year I watched Brighton play Bristol City away and not manage one shot, not one on or of target, the entire match. That was also the match CMS got injured and when our new centre forward from Argentina looked a total waste of money.
Talk about depressing.
But I seem to...
How do we know how many more cuts need to be made to compley with FFP? What we have been told is that the player budget this season was as good, perhaps a bit better, than last year. Last year we spent £2m on transfer fees this season we've spent nothing execpt some of what's come in this...
Of course Poyet did a good job while he was here... and Oscar is doing just as well as his replacement. Haven't we had two great manager appointments under Bloom?
