I used to live near Oulton Park Motor Racing circuit and enjoyed people practising, as I could follow where they were depending on the engine noise. Lots of big houses nearer to the circuit and they (usually just moved from Manchester) got practice days cancelled and race days restricted...

Quite a shock, one of the items was the Lap Record Board from the Olivers Mount motorcycle circuit. The Board has several famous names on it, Geoff Duke for example. The 1954 Lap Record was one P.H.Carter , who broke Bill Doran's previous Record. He really enjoyed the Oilvers Mount...
