I'd recommend watching Ken Burns' Baseball. It's a series of 10 documentaries chronologically detailing the history of the game and its major characters. It is, unquestionably, the only mainstream American sport with realistic parallels to our football owing to its history.
I disagree wholeheartedly. He gets zero protection from referees (an overall problem with lower league football) and was playing with and against players well below his personal standard. Time will tell I guess but there is no way I'd call him a 'prat'. Discipline is relative in football...
Arrogant? Think some people have the wrong lad in mind as that may be the last word I'd ever use to describe him...
Can't believe some of the rubbish prattled out on here. A LOCAL lad has had an amazing season (scoring in excess of 35 goals) where he became one of the county league and Sussex...
I have immense sympathy for MR. He was called by Stuart Pearce (Hodgson called all other players to tell them if they were in/out of the England squad) who told him he would not be in the squad. Pearce later called him (Supposedly 3-4 hours later) to ask him if he'd like to be on stand-by...
Asier Del Horno (Former Chelsea and Valencia left-back) would disagree. I seem to remember a Messi dive got him a red card and led to Chelsea being knocked out of the Champs League...
I don't particularly like LFC but I can see some dramatic improvements since King Kenny has gone back there. For one, they are certainly no pushovers in the big games anymore.
I think the difficulty that KD has faced has been the absence of Gerrard and his 10-15 goals every year. When your...
What annoys me about these protestors is that they appear to be a rent-a-mob. I recall reading a while ago about a group of demonstrators who were claiming that the government should help fund their organisation (which was set up as a protest support group or something such) as it was the only...
Relatively of course! I'd be amazed if there aren't plenty of offers (or rumours of offers...) for him - Even if they are just the product of an agent with an agenda...
El-Abd is a centre back. He has been superb there since Gus took over and I see no reason for that to change. Do you not remember the tosh that was bandied around on here about him not being capable at league one level a before last season? That was because he did not have a fixed position in...
Yes. Otherwise what's the point of keeping Poyet? He believes that this is the best way for us to progress as a club and we should trust him. He has earnt this trust. Just think back a few years and remember the crap that was served up at the Withdean on a regular basis. We have come a long...
Daft and pointless. Why sink to their level? Also - It'd be nigh on impossible to do that much damage there.... If you dropped an A-Bomb on that part of London you'd only do about £20 worth of damage.
You can't blame Everton for taking a gamble on potential - Arsenal are proof that it can be successful to an extent. What's to say that this lad won't get 5/6 games for the 1st XI by the end of the season, impress and they see his value double? As edna points out, it is often flawed as there are...
