I missed the Villa match. Their only away win of the season LOL.
Seriously though - these first games tend to be a 'let down' opposition wise. Its bound to be existing PL side at home who finished outside top 7.
Quite - also they really don't come out as nice people really do they. I mean - who would prefer to go for a pint with - a group of Tory MP's or a group of Labour MP's?
We had Villa at home when we got promoted..
You'll have anyone bar the top 6 at home I reckon. Us, WBA, Watford, West Ham, Leicester etc etc.... Nice and boring to get you settled in...
Plenty of moaners in the Metro letters section about young voters. Basically because the election didn't turn out the way the writer wanted it to...bit sad really.
One minute the young get moaned at for not voting - then they haven't voted correctly. Couldn't make it up.
Like most others - good for up to date news and footie stuff. Almost always a goal for the oppo is first signified by a 'bollocks' appearing on the feed! Even a couple of Brighton followers I think..
High spot - Spagna liked my tweet saying how good 'Call me' was. Made it.
We knew it wasn't a fairytale - just that loads of teams have thrown money at trying to get in the PL and failed - or gone straight down after one year. It's the media, you know what they're like. Surely you can see a small club getting up to the PL is loved by the media. And they always said...
Just illustrates how we are hostages to our owners ad how they go about their business. Like most of us I wasn't desperate to get to the PL, I was still in mild shock getting to the Championship. Should have spent £6 million first of all buying the stadium back from Structuredeane. But can see...
Hard to argue against it. Bought in Josh King for £1million and he has been superb and yet compare him to Ibe - which might end up being a bit of a disaster. Tyrone Mings was £8 million and he was actually staring to get there before the Zlatan business, but still got big hopes for him...
Lovely, Thanks. I suppose over the years on the bread line, like Brighton have been too, you get used to having no money or investment. And then as soon as someone is willing to invest, there are FFP rules to stop you in your tracks. Typical. But I totally see the effect dodgy owners can have on...
Yes I suppose so. Not much I can do about it is there, teams have spent loads in the past with help from a sugar daddy...then we get lucky and it's cheating.
Brighton fans would have to live with it if they took the gamble too - I doubt many would have said 'right! that's it, I'm not supporting...
Well well you can rely on good old Lancey to pipe up when Eddie is mentioned - your obsession continues I see..
Well done to Burnley too - amazing achievement to stay up in the PL having spent no money at all. Astounding..
Must admit starting looking through the thread I wondered how long it would be before we were mentioned - although not surprising, yes we could possibly be in trouble if King and Cookie leave although both have made great noises about staying for a while. and a bit of slagging - fair enough you...
Yeah saw them support Sultans of Ping FC at the Wheatsheaf in Stoke in 92. Ridiculous really.
Saw the Manics there too in Jan 91, thought they were the support band at the start!
