Main Coronavirus / Covid-19 Discussion Thread

I keep seeing this graph and general stance. However, what it doesn't mention is numbers. Yes as a percentage less people are now dying of Covid than flu, but that is based on the number of people who test positive for Covid and die, against those that die from flu. Its all about base numbers...

Me neither, but my 6.30am visit to Asda says otherwise for the staff and general public!

At least they didn't use the words cover up or mention MSM!

[Help] Any Gardeners out there able to help me identify this tree.

I'm always amazed that a football forum such as this is able to attract such an august fan base of virologist's, epidemiologists, war tacticians and apparently gardeners, yet no-one seemingly knows much about football!!!

[News] Petrol and diesel £2 per litre by the end of the year?

I'm sure the government will step in soon, when they realise their cut of this astronomical price is fixed at 57.95p per litre, they will want their cut of £1.80+ per litre - probably say its to help cut the NHS waiting lists / care crisis / war effort / take your pick!

    Black Lives Matter

Who knows, you certainly don't! It's an unquantifiable gesture, I don't know how many people, if any, it has made to look at things differently and equally you can't prove it hasn't. Besides which, the whole purpose of taking the knee is as an act of support and to show awareness that we're...

    Black Lives Matter

I think it was common knowledge, without starting ANOTHER thread, that Black Lives Matter as an organisation was iffy, to say the least. However black lives matter (lower case) as a movement is to be applauded. Two vastly different beasts and should never be confused or conflated... unless, of...

[Albion] Aaron Connolly - joining Hull permanently

I know, really difficult isn't it. Although I think the playground bully "face to face" is massively different from social media, which you don't HAVE to read! As for Propper, ultimately he made the decision that was right for him and his health. Depression is a terrible thing, as I have seen...

[Albion] Aaron Connolly - joining Hull permanently

But that's where you're wrong. I would always "support" any Brighton player. However, there has to be an acceptance, as unpalatable as you may find it, that certain human dispositions don't lend themselves to certain jobs. Being Swedish you may not be familiar with the late British comedy...

[Albion] Aaron Connolly - joining Hull permanently

As a professional sportsman he should do what is best for his health, so if not going on social media is one of those things, then so be it. If he can't then maybe he should consider a different profession that doesn't put him in the spotlight and make him a target for trolls and the like!

Yep, sensible approach as advocated by doctors. My wife was suffering from depression at the height of the Covid pandemic due to the horrendous stories on Facebook, news outlets, etc., her doctors advice was to stay away from such places!!! Doesn't mean people aren't saying bad things, just...

    [Politics] Liz Truss **RESIGNS 20/10/2022**

Agree, there are few "statesmen/women" left, people of principle who have something they believe in - mind you that didn't work out too well for Jeremy Corbyn, did it.?
