True, but I always thought the random allocation would take into account predicted finishing time to ensure there was a good spread of runners across the field.

[Albion] Do the Albion have an official historian? A statistical history of the Albion, 97-98 to present

Graham Potter? I seem to remember he had a good grasp of our history during his tenure here.

It didn’t ask about having previously run a marathon or predicted finishing time. I’m sure it has done this when I have entered in the past.

[Albion] Some people seem to think we could do with NOT qualifying for Europe this year.

This mentality reminds me of being told by the Man Utd and Arsenal fans in my class at school that their dads remembered all Brighton fans wanted Brighton to get relegated from division back in the early 80’s so that they could see some wins.

I like to refer to myself as the patriarch.

    [Albion] Pre-Season Tour 2025

Doing both USA and Japan tours certainly drained my financial reserves. I’d love a tour of Ireland this summer to make amends.

    [TV] The Traitors - BBC

I wish they’d just do two civilian series a year instead. I wouldn’t have a problem with them putting one or two well-known people in amongst them, but Duncan from Blue can f*** off!

    [Football] Wallet checking

I was asked if I had a wallet by the steward who searched me. (I didn’t) I just thought he was being conscientious and helpful in case I had dropped it on the way to the stadium.

[Football] Anyone have the stats on deflected goals conceded and scored in the PL this season?

My friend refers to these as ‘professional’ deflections implying that the better teams and players take shots in areas that have the potential to deflect off players wrong-footing goalkeepers. A bit like players who head or kick the ball into the ground to make its trajectory harder to read.

The liberal Filipino Cardinal Tagle favourite going into the Conclave. Cardinal Turkson as the first Pope from the continent of Africa looks good value at 5/1.

[Football] Tactical Nerd Alert - Is building from the back dead?

I have always thought that knocking the ball into touch for an opposition throw-in in their own half from a goal-kick is an under-exploited tactic. It concedes possession but gains ground and an opportunity to quickly win the ball back by pressing in the opposition half.

[Albion] End of season lap of honour

Agreed. It’s like when you go to the theatre and those overpaid actors come out and expect you to thank them for doing their job as they take a bow. I always walk out on principle and occasionally flick a couple of V’s if I am close enough the the stage.

    [Football] Which team…

Brighton was the first football team I knew. I remember kids in my class going and being jealous as no-one in my family was into football. Maybe that’s why I didn’t know if any of the ‘big clubs’. I eventually went on an organised Cub trip and sat in the West Stand at the Goldstone. Pleased to...

Wouldn’t have him as the Captain of a rubber ring in a paddling pool.

[Albion] Where in the world is Joao Pedro?

I will definitely miss those backheel flicks to no-one in particular and those runs into three opposition players which always result in a turnover when a simple pass was on. Very talented player with an under-developed footballing brain.

[Albion] Fab Out: Now or at the end of the season

He lost 10 on the bounce. 2 of the 12 game losing streak were under Coppell. Coppell’s were both memorable games. 2-4 home loss to Sheff Utd 5-0 loss to the Scum
