[Albion] Europa League quarter final, semi final draw

So we would have missed the trip to Rome, replaced by trips to Hamburg, Valencia (effectively), Lisbon and Liverpool. Bank balance would have been a shambles.

[Albion] Info for AS Roma fans for Thursday

I saw some fans being bused into Verona. The buses didn’t even have windows they were in such a state.

[Albion] Info for AS Roma fans for Thursday

I heard that some damage had occurred on the buses leaving Falmer, and staff members got abused.

[Albion] Info for AS Roma fans for Thursday

Bus companies won’t carry them after incidents with Marseille. In Italy they have special buses for the occasion.

[Football] Why are English football grounds so boring (compared to Europe)??

Its a very different culture. Back in Germany, Schalke are now fighting to stay in the second tier. Still in front of 60000 capacity crowds. The atmosphere remains absolutely nuts. In the Nordkurve it is still a heaving mass of humanity. All standing, beer allowed, well compulsory actually...

[Albion] Info for AS Roma fans for Thursday

I trust she got them back, there is a market for that sort of thing as a friend of found out when her rather fetching red shoes were put on Ebay. Several offers but only if pre worn, yup, all from blokes. I won't tell you my suggestion to raise extra funds but she was unimpressed.

[Drinking] Where are we going to hang out in Rome?

Lots of Police by Spanish Steps and Piazza del Popolo tonight. Feyenoord apparently caused huge problems a couple of weeks ago and Police are on edge.

[Albion] Gazzetta Football Italia Channel 4

Thinking about it then this is my first ‘competitive’ game in Italy since David O’Leary struck the penalty that took Ireland to the quarter finals. (Wifey 34 weeks pregnant then, finally, put her foot down and home I went) Owen, reading the script, didn’t grace us for another two weeks...

[Drinking] The official Rome Aperol Spritz (and possibly Negroni) thread!!

Yeah that can happen. A favourite restaurant in Florence used to do a 7 course special for €50 and throw in unlimited wine for free. I challenged them to revive it a couple of years ago, and got 7 main courses. Still €50 though.

[Albion] Our dismal record away to Roma

I remember it happening as a trial for the team, as they were likely to qualify for Europe that season. But the uber defensive style, which was working very well, was abandoned and we reverted to an attacking style and sunk like a stone as a result. Can’t read the article as it is riddled with...

[Albion] Private Seated Rome Stadium Transfers

I wonder if City Lights could assist us with printing of match tickets if we have problems?

[Albion] Kaoru Mitoma [27/2/24 - possibly out for the rest of the season]

Start to promote from the u21 set up. We may just find the next gem is ready and waiting.

[Travel] Heads Up: Leonardo Express from airport to Rome Termini

I was in hurry in Genoa one night, hoping between local stations, and thus offered up a sector of my railpass (I had ten sectors in total.) Guard comes along, takes my railpass, looks at it hands in back upstamped and told 'don't be silly' Nice guy.

[Albion] How are you getting to Rome?

Yup my Baku flight was £407.00, but as I went back to cancel it had timed me out.

    [Albion] Brighton v Roma

Another absolutely brilliant draw. Huge club and a top City,

    [Albion] Ambitious summer Transfer Window.

With our very smart recruitment into the u21 squad and loans out, I expect a number of players to effectively step up next year. I doubt if any other team has this level of depth outside the first team squad.

[Albion] Europa League - Away game tickets.

I Quite fancy flying to Faro for anything Lisbon based. Catch a bit of sun.

    [Football] Trains to Sheffield

Hopefully, someone will pick them up again as I am moving to the Island next year. Assuming I can't buy a season ticket in the away end at Southampton.

    [Football] Trains to Sheffield

Seagulls Travel as far as the Midlands, after that it is just too far for a day now. Rail up North is now just too expensive once we have had kick-off times confirmed, though Sheffield in the Cup went well, and was my first Albion Northern Trip by rail post covid. I understand there may be...
