Wow, i had a look and that's quite a resumé! This is probably a massive breach of forum etiquette, but do you mind me asking your name? Despite only having raced for the last four years, I've followed the sport very closely since the 80s and may well have read about your exploits back in the...
Thanks. I've come across that Tring course - a clubmate did a short 19 on it this year! They've just released details of next year's TTs in that region and there are several events on that course, including some pretty unusual times, eg Wednesday early afternoon. I'll definitely give one of...
Nice one! What sort of track racing did you do? And what club did you ride with? For what it's worth, my PBs are 55'30 for 25 miles and 20'47 for 10, both on Sussex roads. Going to look at some of the faster Midlands/East Anglia dual carriageway courses next year, in a desperate attempt to...
Guilty, I'm afraid. Tend to do most of my racing on single carriageways rather than DCs, but that's more by virtue of where I live than out of any sense of self preservation. Are you a tester too, in the mould of your namesake?
Thanks very much BS! Unfortunately strava is but a bit of fun and, in my experience, real world racing doesn't always go quite so neatly according to plan.... Not to mention the fact that I had a raging tailwind this morning! Anyway, didn't want to miss an opportunity for another shameless...
No problem. Got a broken arione (cracked base) that you're welcome to if you want to see whether it suits you? No good for long rides, but ok to give you an idea. Work in Brighton and/or going to boro game if that helps?
I've got those self-same red bling token tiramic jockey wheels on my stealth and can confirm, scientifically and beyond all doubt, that they DON'T make you any faster.
But they do look good....
I reckon I'd take up the offer of the recycled mirage wheels if I were you - pretty sure all campag...
Quantity over quality in the main, I'm afraid....
- the exception is my Planet X stealth which I use for tts. Full dura ace with pro disc and zipp 808 front
- Tifosi ck3 alloy framed winter bike/commuter
- Dolan mythos carbon framed road racing bike - mainly ultegra with novatec wheels
-...
Sorry, forget what I said. What i meant to say is what you really need is a 1980s plastic BMX saddle, like a kashimax aero. Pm me and I'll sort you one out. Guaranteed bruised perineum or your money back.
Questions? Sounds a bit intimidating. Do I have to read all 2507 posts to work out what the questions are?
By the way, my tuppence worth for the saddle query is a fizik arione or old style flite, both do-able for about £30-40 on bike radar, eBay, tt forum etc. But most important is to get one...
Sorry, not guilty. I'm a serial fantasist on other websites, but came across this a little too late in the season. Greetings to all fellow albion-following cycle geeks - who'd have thought!?
Cyclingnews.com has lots of coverage, as I imagine most other cycling sites do. As someone who has followed cycling voraciously for thirty years, races regularly and has two kids who are starting to race, I am just so glad that this massive twat and the whole sorry episode has finally been...
