Hi, Perseus. I'm thinking we need to rest Barnes, Noone, and especially Bridcutt. I'd replace them with Hoskins, Lua Lua, and not sure of the third. Vincelot? Harley?
I also think we can win this. They have two suspensions (you'll never get sent off alone?) after Tottenham, Agger's...
A narrow or unlucky defeat is certainly possible, but I think we are due for a blow-out victory. Although we are top of the table we have yet to hit our stride, which is frightening news for the rest of the Championship teams. And for Liverpool.
You always fancy yourself at home, it's the AWAY games that are the measure of toughness of schedule. Disregarding their reults against us, our away oppents have won 5, lost 2. That's tough! By the same measure, Soton's away opponents have won 4, lost 6. Not so tough!
For me it was my first season as a Brighton fan. 1957-58, culminating in a 6-0 victory over Watford (5 of them from Adrian Thorne) to clinch promotion to Division Two (as it was then called). Second favorite? This season!!!
You guys make me laugh. We'll beat Palace at home, then get at least a draw in the return fixture. Routine stuff against inferior, boring, third-rate opponents. But playing Liverpool? Now that's really something! That's football.
