Away supporters. How do you fit games into your lives?

As already mentioned, there are quite a number of northern sides in the Championship at present and living up here makes it relatively easy to get to 10 or so away games per season. I certainly find the atmosphere to be fantastic and Leeds on Tuesday was the perfect example. For me, home games...

Leeds United vs Brighton & Hove Albion *** Official Match Thread ***

Missed the whole of the first half due to an accident and subsequent fuel spill on the M180. Chatting to our supporters at half time who were raving about our performance. Didn't seem so assured in the 2nd half but our defence looked better organised than I recall from last season; perhaps...

Damn, only 37 years for me. Best I go find another thread ...

Perhaps the player has no desire to play for us again?

Labour lead in polls, anyone able explain why ?

UKIP have done a great job but I am unconvinced that their recent successes will carry through at a General Election. To be Government material a party needs to have policies across the whole spectrum, not just one or 2 selected subjects. Whilst I might have been tempted to vote UKIP at the MEP...

    Robben- time to take action?

I really dislike Robben and his cheating, but I thought the one that was given was a foul. Unfortunately the way Robben throws his arms and head back (like he had been shot in a Hollywood Blockbuster) really doesn't help his cause. There was a 'behaviourist' (sorry, have no idea what his proper...

    Marines V Paras (British)

I've not worked directly with the Paras but have worked with RM officers and ratings; my experiences mirror that of an earlier poster who said they were honest and respectful. I would add that their officers show a high level of intelligence as well. Doesn't answer the original question though!

    the Dambusters on channel 5

It's well documented that Barnes Wallace had great difficulty dealing with the consequences of the raid and the human cost.

    the Dambusters on channel 5

I took this last weekend at RAF Scampton: Mary Stopes-Roe, daughter of Sir Barnes Wallis, and Johnny Johnson, the last British Dambuster in front of the dog's grave.

[Football] The 'football experience' - better or worse since 1980s?

I voted for the 2010s because I feel quite safe to take my children to matches nowadays, be they home or away, that I would not have been comfortable doing so in the 80s. Hell's teeth, I nearly shat myself several times going to the football on my own back then; no way would I have taken...

Could you compete in an Ironman?

Good luck with the Isle of Wight ride, it is nowhere near as flat as you might think!

Could you compete in an Ironman?

Train your weaknesses; go for consistent training; stay injury free; practice your feeding regime; train with the nutrition products you will use on the day; be confident that you can complete each discipline; make sure you get to the run feeling fresh; look good; smile when you cross the finish...

Could you compete in an Ironman?

I did my IM race in Frankfurt, very nice course, closed roads on the bike and 4 lap run course. The crowds were immense and hugely supportive. I've also completed the Outlaw as the cyclist in a relay team, nice location and well organized but no closed roads. Run around the boating lake so...

    Leicester City losses 2012-13 - £34m

It would appear that is not the case. Venky's apparently, didn't know teams could be relegated from the Prem!

Could you compete in an Ironman?

Been there, done that and got the tattoo! Not too difficult if your aim is simply to finish. I managed sub 13 hours on an average of 9 hours training per week; if I can do it then I'm sure you can. Good luck and enjoy it.

    Derby - Roll Call

My lad and I are going. We're meeting a Derby supporting colleague for lunch beforehand and he has a ST in the stand below the away fans. Cue much text banter!

Scottish football clubs, you look out for.

Same here; Mrs T's family are from Cowdenbeath and I've even been to a couple of matches there. It's been a while, but isn't/wasn't there a Speedway track around the outside of the pitch? And apparently the Speedway got a larger crowd than the football! I've also attended a Hibs v Hearts derby...
