I like taking pics of quirky scenes, this one (again from Iguazu) probably won't sell, but I'll take it anyway.

Currently editing and processing my way through 13,000 pictures taken during 7 weeks in Argentina and Uruguay. Here's a hand held panorama from Iguazu falls (Brazil Side) . Initially didn't want to go up there, extra expense (flights etc) on a limited budget, but Mrs Shingle put her foot down.

This one taken during the indigenous carnival in Tilcara, Northern Argentina during early March. A Scots guy turned up out of nowhere with a kilt on and lifted it up to expose his bare bum, this is a no no in Argentine culture and even though it was carnival he had his bum spray foamed by the...

[Politics] A day that will live in infamy

I took some pics in the old naval building where many people were tortured but is now a museum to the 'dirty war' years. My daughter in laws sister who's argentine by birth and who travelled with us for a couple of weeks was so upset by the exhibits that we had to leave after 20 mins. A very...

[Politics] A day that will live in infamy

Just to add I've just returned from 7 weeks in Argentina. I really like the people, but The Falklands issue is always under the surface, particularly with the older generation, but, they don't mention it and i don't mention it. Signs are everywhere, on T shirts, Clothing, on Buses and Trains...

[Politics] A day that will live in infamy

On this day, 43 years ago, Argentina invaded the Falklands. saying.... The Islanders have a choice ,they can return to Britain (some of the people had been there for 8 or 9 generations) or become Argentine. Bearing in mind at the time, the Facist Argentine Junta had disappeared 30,000 of their...

11/12 brilliant episodes for me. Best one the fire drill, weakest one when basil makes Polly dress up as Sybil when their friends come round. but as someone else said, its all subjective.

[Help] Cracks in the ceiling, any advice please.

Morning everyone. Just wondering if anyone is able to give any advice on this please. My son bought a 1930’s house and when he moved in realised that there was damage to the gully drain that had been allowing drain water in from the shower and sink upstairs, causing damp on the interior of the...

Here's one from the famous (African Inspired) Desfile de Llamadas Carnival in Montevideo over the weekend. Been researching it for months, couldn't get a seat, balcony or photo pass when I arrived and had to stand for hours in the intense heat to secure a spot at the barrier. By the time the...

Don't usually photograph animals but couldn't resist this one. Taken yesterday in Mar del Plata, Argentina. These sea lions come ashore every morning on a fisherman's wharf at the port and bask all day in the sun. The aroma is pungent to say the least.
