    [Football] Terry Venables - RIP

Loved Euro 96, such great memories. Always came across as a football man through and through, RIP.

[Albion] Jack Hinshelwood [9/4/24: new deal to 2028]

We'll be seeing more of him I'm sure, gonna be difficult to find 11 players, let alone 20! Did ok today, will only get better. Not a natural left back either.

And yet was strangely quiet on that point when Forest got their penalty!

This and also the time he took to leave the pitch, you can bet FA will want to make an example of him and compound our injury worries. Especially after RDZ's comments last week. Normally don't expect much of refs and therefore not disappointed, but by Golly that was a truly horrendous display...

[Albion] Your player of the mini-season-so-far

The answer is and always will be Joel "the smiling assassin" Veltman.

[Albion] Positives from Today (Sheffield United)

Van Hecke generally played well although he gave the ball away in some dangerous areas, had they scored from there I'm sure he would get pelters. Igor looks better with each game he plays. Actually though Dahoud played well until he tired and saw (a deserved) red. And finally, we held on with...

[Football] Adam Webster - our next England centre back

Was exceptionally poor after the red, almost like playing with 9 men. Having said that he always looked poor coming back into the team and needs a run of games to get back to his best.

[Albion] Mahmoud Dahoud (Loaned to VfB Stuttgart 31/01/24)

Thought he had a reasonable game until he got sent off, have to say that was deserved. Think we'll miss him whilst he's suspended. Can't say the result is all on him, we should have won the game in the first half hour, even before the red I was expecting a draw, we really need to kill teams...

[Albion] Brighton & Hove Albion vs Fulham *** Official Match Thread ***

Fulham should have been down to 10 men, disappointing VAR didn't intervene even to get ref to review. Steele is not an elite Premier league keeper, but nothing he did today cost us a goal and in fact he saved us at the end. Gross and Mitoma need a rest, both poor by their own high standards...

    [Albion] Joel Veltman Appreciation

Best right back at the Albion since Johnny Crumplin "Football Genius". Of course there ma be some irony in the above. :ROFLMAO:

[Albion] The elephant in the room - Our defensive record

I know what you're saying, but young, reportedly £40m and surely not on a massive salary. Still we have good young players - just may take a season or so to fully develop.

[Albion] The elephant in the room - Our defensive record

Gravenberch would have been a good siining.

[Albion] The elephant in the room - Our defensive record

Not sure I agree, players good enough, may need a season to really gel, however changing from 3 to 2 in midfield will always leave us over run, I think that's what you're seeing

    [Albion] Underrated Welbeck

Good player - not world beater, but needs to be played where he's effective, he wasn't tonight or at Villa.

[Albion] Olympique de Marseille vs Brighton & Hove Albion *** Official Match Thread ***

The biggest problem tonight are the numbers in midfield, not the personnel.

No, he's not the problem, Pedro for Fati, wee Billy for Fati, beef up the midfield.
