We look so much better when we play at a higher pace and shut them down quickly (as opposed to standing off defending in numbers). Villa clearly don’t like being hassled…
This has been become such a mainstay of our media - honestly, the amount of publicity v the rest, you would think City, Newcastle and Villa were within touching distance of the title. How much coverage, in comparison, do we see for Albion, Bournemouth and Fulham? There are only FOUR points...
Yeah I’m with you on this. Ayari does look weak at times and is also prone to silly mistakes like giving the ball away when he’s not under any pressure. There is a bloody good player somewhere in Matt O and we need to find it. With Baleba rested, I thought it would be a good time to give Matt O...
Felt moderately confident before I saw that line up. Ayari and Adingra starting and Baleba on the bench? Got bit a Forest (part one) feeling about this one. Where’s the Fernet Branca….
The score so far doesn't necessarily reflect the balance of play but it DOES reflect a team that has looked increasingly ordinary and predictable. Players seem to have lost some faith in the FH system (and possibly FH himself) and I’m starting to worry this may mot return….
Danger signs are definitely there: a tremendous talent pool of players coupled with a mammoth summer spend. Yet we are turning out far too many shitty performances like this. Not a terrible season so far by any means, but eyebrows are without doubt starting to head upwards…
I’m saying it doesn’t make sense that a team with so much promise and raw talent STILL can’t fathom how to play against lower half ‘brick walls’, not the fact shit teams park the bus…
Well yes that’s exactly my point. Just can’t be a coincidence - totally bizarre. Despite nothing changing, I still can’t get my head around it. Doesn’t make sense at all.
More weird, leftfield selections from FH - with so much attention on the league’s youngest boss, just wondering if he’s starting to feel like the ‘special one’ who could transform a bag of shit into gold just by being in the room…
Regularly watching Everton away, painfully grinding their way to a soporific 0-0 or clinging on a goal lead for dear life, must take epic levels of masochism.
In such a lacklustre game theres always a danger something stupid like this would happen. Imagine most the players are thinking about what’s for dinner or who won The Traitors…
Repeated assurances from FH about ‘trusting the process’ but in my cynical old age I’m starting to wonder if the players fully understand this magical ‘process’. We look messy on the pitch, team selection looks messy etc…maybe it’s just me…help..
