I'll agree with the two previous comments, just get out there being the first and don't underestimate a good pair of trainers.
I for one am inspired if I see a 'new' runner starting out on a fitness campaign! If I see someone in the gym for the first time I think it's great! It takes guts to...
Always had Garmin and always happy with them!
If you are serious about your fitness the Garmin 920xt is fantastic, albeit a tad pricey!

I don't have the original email and haven't received a copy!
Phoned them up and they said they are having a few IT issues but to just bring photo ID!
They assured me it won't be an issue!

Training was going really well until week last Friday when I tweaked my IT band! Not run since and just stretched! Since then pulled my back! Can't see me running at all until Sunday and that is 50/50 currently! So frustrating as I had been injury free up until then!!

The taper I guess should have started this week but I feel I need one last long run, maybe 18 on Friday! Then I will slow it down with a few short plods next week and then next to nothing going into the final week!
Like many on here I am hoping to stay with the 3:45 man and see how I feel at 20...
Up until about 7 months ago I suffered big time with calf and achilles problems so much so I tore my left calf that put me out for months and my achilles were tender to the touch after every run!
I almost resigned myself that my running days were over and then I went to Studio 57 in Hove and...
Head down, don't look up is the only way up that hill, but the reality is its almost constant climb to Firle Beacon! Put it on your bucket list as it is a must if you like a tough one!!
Those wanting a proper challenge next year have a go at the Moyleman over the SDW! I haven't done the Stinger so can't compare but believe both are tough!
I came in just over 4hrs 12 mins and was really happy with the time but I have to say it was a right bas****! The climb out of Southease...
Almost perfect conditions today for the half, really enjoyed it and also smashed a PB in 1:35:30! Only slightly frustrating part was the first couple of miles due to mass of runners! A lot of it was due to a lot of runners starting in the wrong starting areas I think but probably not their fault...
There are clearly a good number of very good runners on this thread so thought I would pose a question!
I run a fair bit and I have entered both half and full at Brighton this year! I'm not getting any younger but would love to run a PB in April!
The question is, should I also go for a half...
You're the pack leader, she needs to learn that! A dog that pulls on the lead wants to be the leader! You need to turn the tables and make sure you become the boss!
As others have said, dogs are trained with treats so make sure you have these with you when you are out! I have a terrier and they...
It's disgusting what these lawyers are doing just to make a quick buck! How do they sleep at night chasing these guys!
Having served over 20 years in the military what our front line troops went through and still go through is undescribable! PTSD is and will be a massive issue for years to...
Seriously!!
I think that everyone understands that remembrance is a minutes silence but the fact that some people chose to applaud, rightly or wrongly should not be in question!
I personally stood silent throughout the applause but didn't think bad of the guys around me who applauded! Paying...
