The whole injuries are a factor, but not a major one for me, providing you have a structure which we struggled with.
We have developed a squad with good depth and flexibility. Credit to Fabian for not complaining. Wieffer has done well, Baleba did as well, but if everyone knows the expectation...
Good post.
I do think this was a gamble though, and as you know after Brentford I was very frustrated with the tactics, and still maintain that, it’s just that Fab learnt something from that game and has implemented it - full credit to him.
Poor Tottenham team but even after a poor first half...
Of course, but if you are still putting over your own playing style the point remains.
Purring is strong, (see Fulham away) but we were very well placed and we had just beaten a team that went on to be relegated comfortably.
Something we have struggled with since that season.
I’ve been critical of FH numerous times this season, but there is no doubt he is on a steep learning curve and has really adapted, particularly recently.
Really excited for season 2.
The team spirit and ability to make substitutions at the right time is exceptional.
Was it 6? Somebody said 13 elsewhere. Fair enough.
So really, drop two places after only 6 games….. come on @Bodian 😃 that’s an even worse comparison….
RdZ was great in that first season, as was Potter the previous year, and Hughton in keeping us up. Fabian has done well and hopefully, he’ll...
Were you actually at the game?
Our movement was poor, we were making poor decisions when others were open.
We created more chances at Brentford and it was even worse there
It was a poor half…
Of course you do.
Every manager has his own style. RdZ had to implement his, which took ?5 games.
He took Potters team and improved it from a playing style perspective.
Even MacAllister in an interview at Liverpool highlighted the impact and change in style, Dunk did, Lallana….. if those...
I thought it was. Everyone seemed half hearted and a bit lack lustre
We had one decent chance which was Adingra’s bad miss.
Tottenham scored and then sat back, hoping to hit us on the break, which they did, great save by Bart.
We seemed to spark to life as son as those subs were made.
Yes last season, can’t argue with that….
The first season was a third of a season old, it is far harder taking over a team mid-season than it is during a preseason.
If RdZ had a full preseason that first year he may have done even better.
To finish 6th was an amazing achievement, he was also...
Call it what you will…..
but I can’t remember a season where we’ve come from behind to win on so many occasions.
Just amazing…..
Full credit to the players and manager for creating this positive, never say die approach….
Trust the process…..
Chelsea away as well, Palace and Villa at home, I think defensively this is the most fragile we’ve looked for some time.
Also, evidenced by the number of goals we’ve conceded
