Pretty sure we've been linked with him before, might've been last season. If I remember correctly, Arsene Wenger said that Gnabry and Akpom wouldn't be going out on loan this season? Could be wrong though.
I see where you're coming from with that. I'd probably rank the new striker above them in that case, as I don't think Hemed & Murray will be a partnership that will work due to them being almost the exact same player (hope I'm proved wrong of course) & also with the fact I think Baldock isn't...
I'm not particularly fussed about Newcastle & Villa getting parachute payments as, in my opinion, they're an established PL clubs so it's almost as if they have deserved some financial support for being in the top flight for so long.
The problem I have however, is with (as you mentioned) yo-yo...
I'm sure there is still plenty of business to be done, hopefully:
- Kayal & Stephens renewing their contracts
- New striker in
- New centre back in
- Elvis Manu and Rohan Ince out (season long loans)
- Danny Holla out (permanent)
In that order with a bit of luck.
Exactly. We signed Stephens in very similar circumstances... 25 years-old, similar fee (according to reports), and from a club that underperforms. If he made it into a TOTS for Reading then it excites me to think of what he can do for us.
For those who are underwhelmed or perhaps disappointed with Norwood, let's not forget he was statistically the second best CM in the league last year, was in the WhoScored.com TOTS, completed more key passes than Kayal and Stephens COMBINED, etc etc. In my opinion he'll give Dale and Beram a...
This is a real statement of intent from us. I highly doubt the £8m will be in one upfront fee, most likely something like £4-5m + add-ons. I think he'll do well here if he signs, hasn't really had any regular game time at a permanent club, only loans. This will give him a chance to find his feet...
I'd say it's very unlikely to happen now, considering Blackburn have already sold Hanley and are about to sell Matt Kilgallon who both play CB & also that we supposedly have already had a bid for £2m for him rejected.
As things stand, our squad doesn't look capable of beating Derby at their place.
With that being said, I'm going to say the score will be 1-0 Derby.
However I hope, with a few signings this week, that I will be proven wrong.

I don't think it is possible for the club to re-design the strip now anyway, after all the shirt sales and the massive amount that they will have stocked up for players & fans it would financially set the club back.
Really starting to get fed up with Sam Baldock. Runs around a lot but what else does he actually do? Has failed to impress in ALL pre-season games too.
I think Dallison leaving on loan indicates CH has got a CB signing lined up. Out of all the youth players I would have said Dallison was the closest to breaking through to the first team
Possibly not on the same scale that they did as they spent just under £30m in the summer window I think. For us it's more important to keep the squad we have & add a couple more top players. Considering the tiny margin in which we missed out by I don't think it would be necessary to go mad with...
