Players contracts tend to end on June 30th.

A deal can be announced at anytime once agreed even if it isnt happening for months. It was announced before June 30th that both Milner and Dahoud would be joining us at the end of their respective contacts.

We are probably waiting for him to be available to do the holding up the shirt photos etc and that may well have to wait until when the new shirt is released. They may want to tie a new signing announcement into the release of the new kit etc.
They may also be waiting for the Eredivisie season to finish. That finishes on Sunday.

All that’s left to complete is the relegation play off final.

PSVs last game was 18th May. Boscagli is more than likely on holiday now hence the wait for him to be available for promos etc.

Possibly insurance in case first choices went elsewhere. We've hardly seen him play, maybe his numbers tell us something that cant be trained, whereas what's missing could be. Maybe I'm

Given that it's his algorithm and we've pursued him for 2-3 windows, it's either a glitch in the matrix or a symptom of a larger failing. It seems odd that he's fit the algorithm and then also passed the eye-test and still managed to cost £11m.

Maybe I'm being naive, but wouldn't it have been better to not bother with Cashin and use some or part of that £11m to try and get Boscagli in January for a cut price? I imagine there would be a multitude of obstacles though (player wanting to see out the season, club not wanting to sell when fighting for a title etc)
Algorithm or not, he’s still barely 5’ 10 with no pace, unless the algorithm has foreseen a late growth spurt or two more yards of pace, I fear we have wasted £11 big ones.Fortunately we have our man, Boscagli on a free, now that looks like value.

Let’s face it, the signing of Cashin was a total waste of time and money, I wonder what TB makes of that bit of business?
Emergency back-up purchase with the daft number of injuries we were suffering. Safeish bet at what we paid as we’ll probably get our money back when we sell him.

Much as I fear you may be right, we rarely make signings for now. The majority are with one eye on the future and they take a season or so to work. Does seem an odd one though. The only time we’ve seen him was a terrible decision to put him on when Villa with their quick attackers were breaking with pace. Some intro to the prem and a wrong substitution by the manager. I’ll reserve judgement but agree it does seem a little odd to spend that much on him.

What did we spend? £8m wasnt it? Absolute peanuts in Prem football.

Hope he makes it in the Premier League. Had limited time in a difficult game and been written off by many, but as we know some of our stars have need the time and games to show their potential

Thought it was £11m (google says £9m) but still think it’s a hefty fee for a CB from Derby who wasn’t setting the world alight. Don’t think it’s peanuts but also maybe I need to get with the times more!
Pretty sure £11m was the bid when we were trying to sign him in the summer, but that went down to around 8 or 9 when we tried again in January.
