Couldn't disagree more, I think it's a great idea. There are plenty of people in the current 1901 such as myself who want a nice view and a decent seat and somewhere warm and dry to have a beer before / after the game, who find the people around them old, stuffy and silent. I'd rather be somewhere with an atmosphere, and would definitely contribute to it, but that sort of thing is frowned upon up there. If the North can't be extended with another proper tier then this is a way of getting a few more hundred voices in there while generating some decent revenue for the club. It's win/win.

Spot on but wait for the outrage when the 1901 out-sing the north stand!

I highly recommend the latest Overlap Fan Debate with NSCs very own finance expert discussing with Carragher and co how clubs are becoming so disinterested in the 'legacy' fan that they will buy their regular tickets back and repackage them as some sort of experience to sell on to tourists.

More money for the suits is all that matters. We're going the same way. Depressing.

That doesn't mention home fans only, so could I attend wearing a Fulham shirt with my many Albion mates wearing their Albion shirts?
um, it does - read the email quote again - “exclusively for home fans”

So the home end, more affordable area for the more rowdy element of our support is saturated by the wealthy who want the best of both worlds. They want the luxury of 1901 but realise the atmosphere is shit so have to lord it over the plebs instead. Wonderful news.
1901 members cheering their Club on, swearing at the ref, chanting and wearing the colours of our team all while having access to a bar and not having to queue for 3 hours to get a drink.

Shocking!

Am I missing some joke here?

If you’d sat with a load of old foagies or next to glum, silent away fans in the 1901, I think you’d really appreciate a lounge area where away fans aren’t allowed and home fans can let off steam.

I think away fans should be banned from the 1901 altogether personally but a 1901 lounge purely for home fans is an excellent idea imo. I get it won’t appeal to many NStanders though who think they are the only real Brighton fans of course

I went for a post match beer behind Fulham's new stand on Sunday. £3 / pint (albeit Camden 'Ale'), live music, food trucks - that kind of thing. It was a lovely atmosphere - sun glinting off the Thames, rowers out etc and the punters were an odd mixture of 'ordinary' fans from the other parts of the ground, corporates with Charles Tyrwhitt bags / suits (they're one of our sponsors) and tourists. At first floor level there were family groups sipping wine in their exclusive bar. It was a glimpse of what our CEO is trying to achieve in terms of attracting more moneyed punters and I suppose the £3 pints encourage the rest of us to add some local character.

To be fair, ST prices for renewals have gone up by only a small % & mine has gone down as I'll be a concessionary next season. £21 / game.

I think you might need to look up the definitions of the words a) saturated and b) wealthy.

Sounds awful.

Isn’t this part of the new north hospitality shelf that is the reasoning behind moving the police box to the other side of the north stand.
You've made my day. Hopefully it will be less of a carbuncle over the other side. Maybe they could hold an event at The Terrace where they can live stream it being ripped out. I'll help, for free.

The TV hanging half way out looks a bit of a panic afterthought mind.

So how many rows in the north stand will have a roof/shelf above them?
