The problem is that he (and others) see the attacking midfield role as his best position, but he's been doing poorly in that position for weeks. Which is why either Hannibal (who played very well against Oxford) or the three Josh combo, Cullen-Brownhill-Laurent, have been getting the gig.

He might do better back on the wing, where Foster has been playing (when it wasn't Hannibal). But now we've signed Edwards from Sporting Lisbon, he won't get much time there.
Edwards is a great signing.
Do you think Jeremy has enough to step up next year? He’s a lovely player. A real football lovers footballer. Lovely balance and poise. Has the odd worldie in his locker. I want him to succeed so much here but I suspect he simply isn’t quite good enough.

At least it looks like Sarmiento may have consecutive Championship promotions on his CV, so if we do get rid we may get a decent price from someone in the 25/26 Championship with parachute cash, i.e. Southampton, who will be short in that position if Dibling goes and Lallana retires at the end of his 1 season contract.

Sarmiento started in Burnley's 3-0 FA Cup defeat to Preston in the cup on Saturday - it was his first since February 8th, when Burnley beat Southampton 1-0 in the previous round. Those two ties aside, he has had only three starts in 2025, and he has not scored or assisted since late November, when he scored for only the second time in a Burnley shirt. He had no shots and no touches in the opposition box in the Preston game, and while his passing was tidy, with a match-high accuracy rate of 93%, he lost more duels than any other player involved.

Not pulling up trees is he? Can't see him staying past the summer.

It's a shame. I was convinced he was our next 'break through' player a few years ago

Shame. I remember his brief appearance for us before the bad injury and he looked a really good player. I even told my mate with me at West Ham to keep an eye on him. Then he was stretchered off.

He’ll be better abroad where you get more time on the ball.

Playing in an ultra defensive Burnley team is the worst possible environment for a loan player with his attributes, but at the end of the day it looks like he’s a championship level player. No shame in that.

Playing in a team with Scot Parker defensive tactics. A big error sending him out on loan to Burnley. Waste of a season for him. Feel for the lad, he's a great player.

Maybe Ipswich might fancy him on a permanent next season when they're back in the Championship (Man City verdict notwithstanding).

I would be very surprised to see him in an Albion shirt again, a shame as he looked a prospect when he arrived but he's just not stepped up in the way Enciso and Goodnight have done

You say stepped up, but both those 2 were loaned out and neither produced on loan.
Both being predicted to be sold on this forum also
