In the selector’s defence, Carson only took 9 wickets before this game. At an average of over 50.
The Ahmed brothers and Mousley got in ahead of him. I’m not sure what they are averaging, but I remember Farhan Ahmed playing very well and turning the game against Sussex. Feel like spinners across the board haven’t been helped by the pitches this season.
