NORM!

Loved that show back in the day, him and Claven were gold. Sad news.

Star Trek DS9 in the 90s had a regular character who was almost always seen sitting at the bar, in the same seat, drinking.

The character's name was Morn.

I can't believe it. I was only talking about him to my son yesterday. Mind you as part of a discussion about being surprised about fat actors living to quite old ages! RIP.

Saw him for the first time in a small role in a late-era M*A*S*H episode.

Great in Cheers, especially the first 5 seasons. Sly humour, deadpan delivery.

I still watch a couple of episodes of Cheers every morning before work, even though Ive seen them all so many times, and Norm has to be one of the greatest TV characters ever.
Sad news to hear of George Wendts passing - always seemed like a guy you could actually sit down for a beer with. Made my day when he liked and commented on one of my FB posts on a "Cheers" group a few years ago 😁

RIP Norm

Always some great lines when he came into the bar such as:

"Can I pour you a beer, Mr. Peterson?"
"A little early isn't it, Woody?"
"For a beer?"
"No, for stupid questions."
