A a couple of things . if the previous government had done their job then they would have been screened.Who would have thought that a hostile foreign power might use our generous asylum policy to locate sleeper agents within our midst (allegedly)
Hopefully under the current government changes have been made and new arrivals have been screened before allowing entry into the UK
Three alleged Iranian spies charged with targeting UK-based journalists

They are accused of targeting individual journalists working for Iran International, an independent media organisation based in London.
