Whatever the reason it made him look a bit of a dick.

I think my bigger issue if I was a Forest fan is the press release put out later basically hanging the medical team out to dry while lionising him as someone deeply caring and treating every one as family.

All in all, not a great look but it's not going to change people's opinion of Forest in general. They/we will just think their chairman is a bit of a nobhead.
Forest media team do have history of being a little stupid in what they release. With their chairman I feel pretty much feel the same as I do for Newcastle and their fans. They have also got where they are from cheating FFP but got all upset when they were caught and lost a few points.

I know Nuno and Fab had a bit of a do on the touch line last season after MGW poor challenge but if you watch any of Nuno’s interactions before or after the game he is so mild mannered, even on Sunday in my opinion he tried to defend the indefensible.
Also, he knows you don't cross Marinakis, and wants to keep his job.

You mentioned whether our own chairman would behave similarly. The issue there (aside from completely opposite personalities) is that Tony Bloom is about 5'3" and wears suits that make him look like a schoolboy at a wedding, so if he ever ran on to the pitch trying to remonstrate with anybody, the stewards would probably think it was an excitable ten year old autograph hunter and usher him gently back to his seat, smiling and patting him on the head as they went.

Nottingham Forest are famous club enshrined in English football history. The owner, as our once beloved Graham said, needs a 'history lesson'

Whatever his reasons for entering the pitch last weekend, he should have left it to the office. It was irritating to see. I read the club statement which seemed more like a defence and an evangelical proclamation about the club's supreme leader. Almost a call to honour and praise. I wouldn't want anyone like that near my club and I'm sorry you have that affliction.

I’m of an age where I care as much about how Nottingham Forest are perceived off the field as winning on it, the goodwill we once had from other clubs is dwindling away and in some quarters I agree the look is embarrassing.
I think that most people watching would have thought Marinakis was being a dick, more than Forest being a dislikeable club.

Nuno has done an amazing job to get Forest into Europe, with MG-W, Elanga, Wood, C H-O they are a decent watch, there is a freshness about them. However, that could change, and I don't see Marinakis being able to provide that nurturing environment for the players and staff to thrive on a long-term basis.

Well if nothing else it’s confirmed what I already suspected, it was a poor decision and an even worse look for the club, but no doubt he’ll buy another striker and get a another behaviour pass.

What the Premier League urgently needs is a test. Say a "fit and proper persons" test so that crooks and bent bastards in general are prohibited from owning football clubs.
That is entirely reliant on wrong 'uns having been caught and convicted though.

Say, hypothetically, you owned a fleet of ships, and the port authorities located a couple of tonnes of illegal drugs, let's say- entirely randomly- heroin, in the cargo hold of one of those ships. If you were never charged by the authorities of the country where your ships were registered, then you wouldn't show up on any wrong 'uns list would you, because of course you are categorically, unequivocally and most importantly legally not a wrong 'un.

No matter how much money the Forest owner has he definitely can’t buy class
He spent it all on bespoke XXXXXXXXXXXXXL t-shirts. Didn’t even have enough left to upgrade his iPhone 7, apparently.

Thanks for the input some great posts and points, I’ve took the liberty of contacting my ex wife for the definitive answer to the question as that one never got anything wrong 🤨.

Personally the PSR issue didn’t bother me as the rule had been in place but not enforced and we were one of several clubs that had flouted the rule, we were charged punished and moved on we were given praise at the hearing for the transparency shown throughout the proceeding, then his TV smashing antics I laughed at as it’s out of his pocket, the Clattenburg debacle and tweets was stupid and a bad look, but then we moved into the spitting on the floor in front of referees and officials, that’s witless and classless.

In any other industry behaviour like this would be frowned upon and for what it’s worth I’d not be keen on having anyone close to me in that sort of environment.

In Tony Bloom BHA have rung the bell although he mightn’t always make decisions you all agree with but he does always have Albions best interests front and centre, do you want a swap ? 😉
The owner does seem a total plumb, but like most on here I have a lot of time for Forest. your fellow fans are always decent and gracious in victory and defeat, the atmosphere at the City Ground can be one of the best at times, Notthingham itself is an excellent city and one I have stayed in a number of times, good beer and music scene....you even have one of the "best" worst-pubs-in-the-world which is the Bentink......where I have stayed before. A truly awful place, but if you're going to be awful you might as well be absoultely truly shocking

Different cultures need to be taken into account, we don't do that sort of thing over here, the Greeks do. Remember he's simply the money man, he's not what Forest represent as a club, just shrug your shoulders, roll your eyes and (for us) be glad we've got Bloom.

Personally I'm glad Forest are doing well, they've got a great bunch of loud supporters, it's a great city to visit. Their chairman is an irrelevance.

What if all the people who could testify that a particular individual wasn't a fit and proper person are mysteriously found face down in a greek harbour?

I’ve said before many times that I find BHA fans balanced, humble and fair so I thought I’d ask if I’m reading the situation with our owner Evangelos Marinakis correctly.

His latest show just adds to the list of issues and dramas he’s been involved in, it is well documented online regarding accusations levelled at him which I won’t go into but I didn’t like the look on Sunday, petulant child sprang to mind going on the pitch and having a pop at Nuno, as the owner he can go anywhere in the club but then in my opinion he’s compounded the issue with two statements ( the second was a letter to himself in my opinion) it wasn’t a club statement it was a poor little me, it’s rare I agree with Manchester‘s mayor Gary Neville but if Nuno tossed it off I’d not have blamed him.

Some Forest fans are defending his actions as passion ? a proper fan would get a banning order if he’d shown the same so called passion,

I’m of an age where I care as much about how Nottingham Forest are perceived off the field as winning on it, the goodwill we once had from other clubs is dwindling away and in some quarters I agree the look is embarrassing.
He's a deeply unpleasant narcissist but, then again, most club owners/higher-ups have their issues. It's just how you rank them, and he's certainly in the top half but not at the top.
Most fans can distinguish between the owner and the fans, and Forest have got more credit in the bank than most. The problem comes when you've got a highly suspect owner and the fans refuse to recognise it. I'm looking at you Newcastle and it's beyond me the extent to which City have got away with so much for so long.

As regards the passion thing, it's bolleaux. Players and managers are constantly being told to channel their passion, quite correctly. Not that that analogy works that well, because there's a sharp difference between players on the pitch practicing poor judgement, and some (non-)'owner' appearing on the pitch just after the final whistle visibly berating a manager that has just delivered a club their best finish in (what is it?) 45 years.

Stating obvious to say ideal ownership of a club is a supprter like Brighton Brentford Stoke Midddleburgh etc but if are to have a foreign one yours is better than most. Often at games and pasionate about team. Far better than all of USA owners Stupid thing to do but lets hope it is a one off

Err, it’s quite a bit worse than that as highlighted throughout this thread!
I’ve no idea what you’re talking about. I was speaking entirely in hypotheses!
