Oh do fxck off Witkoff. "What Russia will accept.... must talk to Putin etc" .Go to Ukraine and talk to Zelenskiy, visit Bucha.
Of course it's about territory - fxck off Russia.
PS the Pope says the whole Trump administration are morons.

"The Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant is a big part of this discussion because it’s a little bit of a crown jewel and it’s been closed, but we need to reopen that because it delivers a lot of electricity into some of the cities in Kyiv."

You what Witless?

I read somewhere (....) that he pronounced Luhansk as 'Lugansk'.

Guess what? That's the way that Russians pronounce it. It says it all really.

It's impossible to give credence to anything this talking arsehole says - wouldn't have been a war if the election (of Biden) wasn't a 'false election'. Geez, this fool would probably believe it if you told him Custer won the battle of Little Big Horn!

I changed my comment to  as the more I thought about what Witless said the more angry I got. He said "There is no deal without President Putin’s sign off. He is the leader of the Russian Federation, so the notion of not talking to President Putin is somehow something people are against, I don’t understand that logic. We need to talk to everybody. Any stakeholders in this conflict, we have to have a conversation with them — and we can’t accept another person’s version of what they think. We have to hear it for ourselves. That’s how you get to a solution." No mention of him meeting Ukraine. When has this f#cking moron ever been to Ukraine & had a meeting with Zelensky? Never. Only ever had meetings with Putin, on his own, with Russian translators and he is very happy to accept Putin's version & lies. F''cking moron.I know said it twice but worth repeating again, f#cking moron.,

He's a prize wanker and it's dangerous that he's involved anywhere - must be exhausting for Zelenskiy and co, trying not to speak their minds about Trump's morons.

It's painful to read anything about Witkoff... for my health and sanity I really must stop 🤷🏼‍♂️
Have I got it wrong, is it's Kellogg's job to talk with Ukraine and Kellogg and Witless duke it out in Istanbul?🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️

I know you're right and I should pay no attention to his bs and interviews (especially with Breitbart IIRC). Unfortunately he seems to have an important role so I make myself read his shit, then make a cuppa ☕🧘‍♂️

Witkoff kept repeating "the two sides" must get together, as opposed to "Zelenskyy and Putin must get together". The difference is crucial.

It is possible Zelenskyy will turn up in Istanbul, but Putin will not go and send a Russian delegation in his place. That meets Witkoff's criteria but - of course - without Putin at the table talks are a waste of time.

Indeed, if that happens then it makes Trump seem weak because he was not able to exert influence to make Putin attend.

This is schoolboy level diplomacy.

The news about the depletion of Russian oil stocks further supports the view that if Trump were as committed to defending Ukraine as Biden was then Ukraine's best option would be to tough it out until Russia runs out of cash.

Putin is in a terrible bind now. He has a war economy that cannot be switched back to civilian production without a lot of short-term upheaval. He is losing soldiers who will be required to rebuild the Russian economy if peace comes. He has interest rates at 21% - so people and businesses can't afford to borrow. He has double-digit inflation at 10.3%, and no sign of Europe lifting sanctions any time soon.

I cannot see him being able to hold on to what he has for more than a year. Trump has been an absolute godsend for Putin, who doesn't appreciate just how weak the Russian position is.
