This in some ways shouldn't be a surprise, Wieffer is an excellent player who because of various injuries and one mistake against Wolves that still required a suicidal run by Perv, an excellent counterattack and a deflection to result in a goal against, has been underplayed by Hurzeler and underappreciated by the fans. He isn't outstanding at any one aspect of the game but he does everything well, and should be a regular starter imo

and 3) beating "top 6" teams like Chelsea twice, Newcastle twice, Man United twice, Man City at home for the first time, and Spurs.
and 4) seeing two of the greatest goals i think i've seen at the Amex . ever. (Mitoma, Baleba)
and 5) having another season where we were safe from relegation - half way through the season.

I think the reason we are pants in defence is 50% FH and 50% injuries, with the injuries we are going to need to outscore teams, we haven't been recently, but full credit to FH he outscored them at the weekend. If we are going to be so chaotic at the back, we need to make sure we are ruthless in attack for the last 4 games, FH should concentrate on that. Sorry simple response to it, but IMO its the only way forward with our injury prone back line, and Bart being about as much use as a poppadom in goal.

A massive test coming up against Newcastle who, we've beaten twice at their place. League game we defended for our lives and they missed a lot. Cup game I thought we thoroughly deserved to win, arguably 1 of our better performances this season Sunday will be tough but if we can come through that with a win the European dream still very much alive. Fab has done Eddie twice now, let's hope for a hat trick

All the blah blah blah in this thread will be resolved by the next two games I feel. Three points across those would keep us on course. If we stumble in both games, Fab will get pelters whether anyone on here agrees or disagrees he deserves them, that's just the reality of leading a football club that's spent a fair bit of money to deepen the squad this season

That's obviously your view, so you are saying 3pts from games at home to 3rd place Toon and away at Wolves, who have won their last six, is your expectation, if not then NSC will give him pelters judged on just 2 games out of 34, where just 1pt from those 2 games will see FH achieve our second highest points tally in the PL.
I'd say 2 points rather than 3 would be acceptable, but hey ho, what do I know, I like many others on here, take a more measured view, rather than the vociferous minority who shout the loudest, trotting out the same old nonsense on thread after thread.

No pelters from me but I will be disappointed if we fail to win any of the games left as i just hate it when we lose anyway. Be a bonus if we still have a chance of a place in Europe going into the last game even if we need favours from others.

I wouldn't count one game for any player as a metric for their whole season.
The stats show exactly what I said. He has looked as good as last year. He has not gone backwards like people claim.
They don’t show exactly that. They show he’s been worse going forward and the same for the rest of his game at a time he should be improving.
As @Jimmy Grimble said though it’s partly how he was being used by either coach. I guess you’d have to ask him which role he prefers.

I don’t recall them creating much at Newcastle, we were just very well organised. If we get duffed up 5-0 at home by Toon, I'm assuming due to this arbitrary judgement then no pelters will be allowed on NSC until the Wolves game, and if we sneak that 1-0 with a last minute winner, then FH is in the clear?
That's what I'm meaning by nonsense...... Don't forget whether we win all four or lose all four, FH will still get pelters regardless

I think a draw vs Newcastle and Spurs and win the rest…… one down.
In terms of the pelters and FH, I changed my opinion post Brentford, because the set-up and goals were so poor, and FH just doesn’t seem to be evolving/learning.
So for me, the damage is already done, pelters at the ready.
That said, if we don’t do anything stupid, (high line against faster players, being the primary one), I’ll probably just go with the flow.
To actually answer the question, if we hold European ambition I’d suggest 3, because we should beat Wolves (6 wins or not).
On our day, there is nobody we should fear, we just need to set up right.

It really depends what the nature of performance is….
If pushed, I think a single point would be very disappointing.

They dominated but we defended brilliantly and Bart made a couple of huge saves as well as Newcastle missing the target a lot. We created 1 or 2 near the end but overall most commentators/pundits and Eddie Howe didn't believe how they lost that game.
I was there and can just about remember two big chances for them.
Edit - just looked at the stats, they had a lot of shots, but only one more on target than us.
